YN POV

I was unable to comprehend anything. Unknowingly, my hands pushed him away, but he didn’t even move an inch. He remained firm, his expression unreadable, as though my feeble attempt to create distance amused him.

"Why are you doing this?" My voice trembled as I tried to reason with him. "Listen, let's sit somewhere and talk. If it's my happiness you want, I will let it go for yours."

His lips curled into a smirk. "That’s not how it works, Angel. For my happiness, you are mine." He gently grabbed my wrist and led me toward the luxurious living room, forcing me to sit down on the velvet couch. My mind raced, trying to process his words, but they made no sense.

Suddenly, he got up and walked toward the bookshelves that lined the walls. He retrieved a file, thick and neatly arranged, and placed it on the glass table in front of me.

"You have to marry me." His voice was cold, unyielding.

The ground beneath my feet felt like it had disappeared. My breath hitched as my eyes darted between him and the file. My entire body tensed at the sheer absurdity of his words. This had to be some sick joke.

"What kind of nonsense is this? I already have a boyfriend!" My voice cracked, panic creeping in. I jumped up from the couch, but he grabbed my wrist, pulling me back down effortlessly.

His eyes darkened as he leaned in, his grip tightening.

"If you refuse, you will be ruined." He motioned toward the file with his free hand.

"This contains every little secret about Jeon Corporation and Lee Enterprises. I have access to their entire database. I can destroy everything in seconds, leaving them with nothing."

My fingers trembled as I hesitantly flipped through the pages. My heart plummeted. Every piece of information—their business transactions, their investments, their classified records—was laid bare. He wasn’t lying.

I felt my world collapsing around me. My hands became numb, my vision blurred, and cold sweat formed on my forehead.

"No... you can’t do this." My voice was barely above a whisper. "Please tell me this is a lie... Why are you doing this to me? What will you gain by separating me from my love?"

Tears welled in my eyes as I clasped my hands together in desperation. But he merely stared at me with an unreadable expression before cupping my face.

"You have no choice but to accept it." His voice was calm, yet eerily menacing. "And once you learn the truth about the person you claim to love, you might not be so heartbroken."

His cryptic words sent chills down my spine. What did he mean? What truth was he talking about?

Tears spilled down my cheeks as I looked at the file again. My love... my family... everything was at stake. I had seen them struggle, work tirelessly to build everything from the ground up. I couldn't let it all be taken away.

I looked at him again, shaking my head in silent defeat. His smirk widened, satisfaction gleaming in his eyes.

"I must admit," he chuckled, "I've heard people do unimaginable things for love. But you... you just sacrificed your life."

I could barely process his words as my breathing became uneven. My chest tightened, the room spinning around me. My panic attack was taking hold.

His expression changed as he quickly fetched a bottle of water, offering it to me. But I recoiled from his touch. He sighed, taking something out of his pocket—a small pill. A panic attack medicine. He dissolved it in the water and held the glass out to me.

"Drink." His voice held no room for argument.

My body betrayed me. I grabbed the glass and swallowed the medicine in one gulp, knowing it was my only chance to stop the attack before it fully consumed me.

I hated him. I hated how he knew exactly what I needed before I even asked. I hated that he could control me so easily.

"It’s late," he said, stepping back with a satisfied smirk. "You can’t go home alone. A very soon-to-be Mrs. Kim Taehyung shouldn’t be wandering at night."

His words sent an electric jolt through my body. My knees gave out, and I collapsed onto the sofa. Before I could hit the cushions, I found myself in his arms.

I pushed him away weakly, but darkness consumed me.

---

I woke up to the sound of loud music. My eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the dim lights inside a moving car. Cold air pricked my skin, making me shiver.

"You're awake," Taehyung’s voice broke the silence. He glanced at me briefly before focusing on the road. "I was driving you home. You suddenly fainted. Not that I mind—I also want to meet my new in-laws."

Panic surged through me. "What? No! You can’t go there. Don’t create a scene. Please."

He let out a low chuckle, his hands tightening around the wheel. "First of all, keep your cute little mouth shut before I shut it myself. And second, it’s already too late. I have no intention of leaving my fiancée alone at night."

I bit my lip to hold back my frustration and turned to stare out the window. The streetlights passed by like ghosts, their glow barely piercing through the inky darkness. Everything felt surreal, as if I were trapped in a nightmare.

A part of me knew arguing was pointless. He had the upper hand, and I was powerless. My only option was to play along until I found a way out.

As we approached my neighborhood, my anxiety spiked. My family... What if they saw him? What if he caused trouble?

"Please... just drop me off here," I pleaded, my voice softer, weaker.

He raised an eyebrow. "Why should I? I told you, I want to meet my in-laws. It's only proper."

Anger bubbled in my chest, but it was quickly smothered by fear. I had no idea what he was truly capable of.

The car slowed to a stop in front of my house. Taehyung got out and, to my horror, walked around to open my door.

"Come on, Angel. Let’s not keep your family waiting."

I hesitated. My heartbeat thundered in my ears. This wasn’t just a simple visit—this was the beginning of my downfall.

With a deep breath, I stepped out of the car. He took my hand, his grip firm yet oddly gentle, as he led me toward the front door.

Every step felt heavier than the last. My fingers trembled as I reached for the doorknob.

This was it. My life as I knew it was about to change forever.

And there was no turning back.
