NINGYI SLEPT for almost two hours until her small alarm woke her up. She felt much better after the nap and got out of the bed and headed towards the window. She didn't notice the environment earlier as she was busy with some works but now that she finally saw the area, it took her by surprise.
The environment was quiet and could even hear the sound of birds chirping as if they were welcoming the beautiful sunset with the orange hue painting the beautiful trees into the shade of orange pallette. The area was serene and it reminded her of those little serene areas from movies.
She couldn't help but take pictures of the beautiful sunset before clicking some pictures of herself by keeping timer. After spending almost 30 minutes admiring the sunset and taking pictures of it, she decided to go down and help in the kitchen.
She went down with the bowl from earlier and saw that Li Ping and Sang Rong were there, wearing aprons and cooking together with a smile on their face as they talked about some topics about their youths where they didn't notice Ningyi's presence at all.
Ningyi's footsteps halted and her gaze turned soft as her eyes followed the happiness that was on the two old couples who were teasing each other and cooking together, casually throwing some cute pick-up lines as if they were still a newlyweds in their honeymoon phase.
A tear unexpectedly slipped from Ningyi's eyes and her nose felt a little stuffy which she didn't even realised. She quietly placed the bowl on the table and walked away from the kitchen back to her room. She could see Jaixu's room was open and the two siblings were inside too and she didn't want to interact anyone right now.
Ningyi found herself walking towards the window and the gaze fell on the sun that was slowly disappearing at the horizon with various thoughts flying inside her head.
She was abandoned by her family at the age of four because her maternal family didn't want her anymore because she had trouble speaking during that time and had bad health. Her parents had a bad marriage where Ningyi's existence was out of accident and added more heat to their marriage.
She could vividly remember her mom lying to her saying that she will be sending her off to a friends house as she needed to travel to another country for work. Being a young kid, she thought her mom would come back but as days went by, it turned into weeks and soon into months but her mom never showed up. Not even once and that's when she knew that she was never coming back.
