The morning light shined through the curtains of Sloane's childhood bedroom, warming the room. Paige stirred awake first, feeling Sloane's soft breath against her shoulder, their limbs tangled together under the covers. A smile crept across her lips as she turned her head, her eyes meeting Sloane's half-open gaze.

"Morning." Paige murmured, her voice still heavy with sleep. She stretched slightly, her body pressing closer to Sloane's.

Sloane hummed contentedly, her hand sliding up Paige's back, fingers tracing gentle patterns. "Morning," she whispered back, her lips curving into a lazy smile. Without hesitation, she leaned in to kiss Paige, a soft, lingering kiss that quickly deepened as their bodies instinctively moved closer.

Paige giggled against Sloane's mouth, her hands wandering over Sloane's waist. "You're so affectionate this morning," she teased, breaking the kiss just enough to speak.

Sloane grinned, not letting go. "yea look at you" she replied, her voice low and playful as she captured Paige's lips again, climbing on top of her. Their kisses became more fervent, a slow, teasing aura that filled the room with the quiet sounds of their breathing and soft laughter.

After what felt like hours of lazy kisses and gentle touches, Sloane finally pulled away with a breathless smile. "We should probably get up," she suggested, though she made no effort to move.

Paige groaned in mock protest but nodded. "Fine, but only if we shower together," she quipped, raising an eyebrow.

Sloane rolled her eyes playfully but took Paige's hand, leading her toward the bathroom. The shower was a mix of steamy water, and mini make out sessions as they washed each other's hair, their touches lingering, and their fingers slipping over soapy skin in a ways that felt so familiar.

Once they were dried off and dressed, they made their way downstairs, fingers still entwined, sharing secret smiles. They greeted Sloane's parents in the kitchen, as they talked over the smell of Thanksgiving foods being made.

After a few moments, they found a quieter corner in the living room. Paige sat on the couch and pulled Sloane down beside her, Paige's hand slipping under the hem of Sloane's shirt to rest on her lower back. "So," Sloane began, her voice taking on a low, teasing note, "we could continue where we left off."

Paige's lips curled into a playful grin. "Oh,?" she murmured, her hand sliding up Sloane's thigh. "don't start something you can't finish Sloane." Paige said after she leaned into her ear.

Before Sloane could respond, she leaned in further, her lips brushing against Sloane's ear in a way that made her shiver. Sloane's heart raced, her breath catching in her throat. She leaned in to kiss Paige again, but just as their lips met—

"Sloane!" Windslow's voice cut through the air.

They pulled apart quickly, both of them stifling laughs as they turned to see Sloane's younger sister standing in the doorway with a cheeky grin. "Mom needs you to go to the store. We're out of whipped cream, butter, and green beans," Windslow informed them, then disappeared around the corner.

Sloane let out an exasperated sigh, flopping back against the couch. "Always such perfect timing," she muttered, her cheeks still flushed.

Paige laughed softly, pressing a gentle kiss to Sloane's cheek. "it's okay, baby. Let's just go," she soothed. "We can continue later," she added before giving her a peck and pulling her off the couch.

With a resigned smile, Sloane grabbed the car keys of the coffee table, and they headed out the door. The drive to the grocery store had light banter and the occasional touch—a hand on a knee, fingers brushing against arms. Once they arrived, they strolled through the aisles, taking their time and making the most of their little adventure.

Paige grabbed a basket, looping her arm through Sloane's as they navigated the store. They reached the dairy aisle first, and Sloane scanned the shelves for butter. "Unsalted or salted?" she asked.

"Both," Paige answered quickly, her voice confident. "You never know what she needs."

Sloane chuckled. "True," she replied, grabbing both and tossing them into the basket. They continued their search, moving to the next aisle. As they turned the corner, they were stopped by a teen boy who stared at Paige with wide eyes.

"Oh my gosh, are you Paige from the UConn team?" he asked, almost bouncing on his feet.

Paige beamed, nodding. "That's me!" she said warmly.

"Can I get a picture?" he asked, already pulling out her phone.

"Of course!" Paige agreed without hesitation, stepping closer for the photo. She posed with an easy smile, her arm around the fan, and Sloane couldn't help but watch her, feeling a rush of admiration. Paige was so open, so genuine, and the way she interacted with people always made Sloane's heart swell.

As Paige finished with the fan and returned to Sloane's side, Sloane felt that same overwhelming realization hit her again. She was in love with Paige. Deeply, undeniably in love. And it scared her—how fast, how hard, how certain it all felt. She quickly shoved those thoughts to the back of her mind, trying to focus on the task at hand.

They picked up the rest of the items and headed to the checkout, where Paige insisted on paying. "You got us here, so I'll get the groceries," Paige said with a grin, pulling out her wallet.

Sloane started to protest but stopped when she saw the determined look in Paige's eyes. She watched as Paige handed over her card , her heart swelling again at how caring she was. Paige was always looking out for her, always finding little ways to show she cared. It made Sloane's chest feel tight with emotion, but she quickly pushed it down.

Back at the house, they handed the groceries to Sloane's mom and settled back into the living room. Paige snuggled up next to Sloane, her arm draped over her shoulder, and Sloane let out a content sigh knowing the conversation she was about to have. She turned to sit criss cross, facing Paige.

"So, um, there's this cousin, Nadia," Sloane began, glancing at Paige with a hint of apprehension. "You're ... kind of her type. She might, um, try something later when she gets here."

Paige raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile on her lips. "Oh, really? And does she have a chance with me?" she asked, her tone playful but sincere as she placed her hands on Sloane's thighs and leaned down to peck her lips.

Sloane smiled for a second before her face retorted back to the one of worry as she hesitated, then sighed. "I just... I don't want you to feel uncomfortable, that's all. Nadia can be... persistent."

Paige laughed softly, leaning in closer. "Baby, you don't have to worry about that," she reassured. "I'm here with you. She could be the most beautiful girl in the world, and I still wouldn't even look twice. You're the only one I want."

Sloane felt her heart skip a beat at Paige's words. "Really?" she asked softly, needing the reassurance.

Paige didn't hesitate. "Really," she whispered before pressing a tender kiss to Sloane's lips. "I promise."

Sloane melted into the kiss, her anxiety easing. She felt the warmth of Paige's love surround her, and she smiled against her lips. "Okay," she murmured, feeling a rush of love that she no longer wanted to push away. She let herself sink into Paige's arms, content in the comfort of knowing they were exactly where they needed to be.

They stayed like that, curled up together, Paige's arms wrapped around Sloane, as they settled back into the couch, enjoying the quiet moments before the rest of the day.
