JUNGWON
The next day, I found myself back in my office kitchen at Minutech building, preparing lunch for the CEO. The familiar routine of chopping vegetables and cooking helped keep me focused, but my mind kept drifting back to the strange message from last night. The unknown sender, the cryptic warning—it was hard to shake off the unsettling feeling that something was off.
I sliced through a piece of grilled chicken, making sure it was perfectly cooked, but my thoughts kept circling around the text. Who could have sent it? And why were they so interested in that letter? The more I thought about it, the more questions piled up, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't come up with any answers.
Just as I was plating the food, the door to my office kitchen swung open with a loud bang, snapping me out of my thoughts. Sunoo walked in, his usual cheerful demeanor lighting up the room.
"Hey, Jungwon!" he greeted, his eyes scanning the kitchen. "Just wanted to check on the lunch. How's it coming along?"
I quickly composed myself, forcing a smile. "Almost done. Just putting the finishing touches on it."
He nodded approvingly, leaning against the counter. "Good, good. You know how Mr. Park is—he's not the patient type when it comes to food, even if he pretends he doesn't care about it."
I chuckled, though my mind was still half-focused on last night's events. Sunoo, ever observant, seemed to pick up on my distracted state. "You okay? You seem a little... off today."
I hesitated, wondering if I should mention the message, but I wasn't sure if dragging him into this strange situation was a good idea. Finally, I decided to keep it to myself for now. No need to worry him over something that could just be a weird prank.
"Yeah, just tired," I replied, trying to sound convincing. "Long night, you know?"
Sunoo raised an eyebrow but didn't push further. "Alright, but if you ever need to talk, you know I'm here."
I nodded, grateful for his support. "Thanks, Sunoo. I appreciate it."
He smiled and gave me a light pat on the back before glancing at the plated meal. "Looks good as always, Jungwon. I'll head out and let you finish up. Just let me know when you're ready to take it up to the boss."
As he left, I took a deep breath and tried to push the thoughts of the unknown sender out of my mind. I had a job to do, and Mr. Park's lunch wasn't going to prepare itself. But as I continued to work, I couldn't shake the feeling that this was only the beginning of something bigger—something I wasn't sure I was ready to face.
After finishing up in the kitchen, I carefully placed the dishes onto the push cart and made my way to the VIP elevator. My mind was still swimming with thoughts of the mysterious message from the previous night, but I tried to push it aside. I had a job to do, and I couldn't afford to be distracted, especially with someone like the CEO.
I tapped the button for the 30th floor and leaned back against the wall, watching the numbers light up one by one as the elevator ascended. The familiar tension started to build in my chest—working for Mr.Park always had that effect on me. He wasn't exactly the easiest person to deal with, and every encounter felt like walking on thin ice.
Finally, the elevator chimed, and the doors slid open to reveal the familiar, sleek hallway leading to the CEO's office. I pushed the cart forward, my footsteps echoing in the quiet space as I approached the large, imposing doors.
I knocked twice, my knuckles making a firm sound against the polished wood. There was a brief pause, and then I heard a voice from inside.
"Come in," his voice called out, sharp and precise.
