It wasn't on purpose. There was a certain level of effectiveness inside of her, a level that she never claimed to understand or even put to good use in the past. She was always aware that it was there, but it was impossible not to be when whenever her emotions sparked even just a little, suddenly there was a swarm of them around her and it was all she could feel.
It was said to be a slippery slope once you encountered your first Jedi. You meet one, no matter the circumstances, and suddenly they'll be everywhere all of the time just "checking in".
They were all roughly the same— inconsiderate towards the other races, the ones without noticeable connections to the force, the ones in government and politics. They worked with the Jedi Order, whoever the Jedi Council associated with and practically no one else, therefore they need not to be kind or understanding.
But these weren't the main reasons why she never reached out to anyone with knowledge about possibilities of herself.
The first was simple: Denial. She was normal, and there were no questions about it. Tons of different races of different planets have special talents that don't coincide with that of Jedi. She was no different than the average person.
The Force resides in every living thing, and she was just the same as every other regular woman.
The second was slightly more intricate: Rejection. Survivors of the planet Morrow were not kindly respected, and that's exactly what she was. A survivor of a planet that was greedy beyond belief and was willing to risk the lives of its people to obtain a higher legacy. When the planet's reputation tanked due to its tainted ways, the opinions of its people were also unfathomable.
Disgusting. Cruel. Vile. All words that she'd witnessed other escapees be called on nearly a daily basis by those who knew of their origin, solely for being coined in relation to its disturbing ways.
She didn't want that life, so she kept her homeland a secret as well as her possible abilities that may have stemmed from her experiences as a child there.
Of course, the blatant fact that the Jedi were rumored snobs with god complexes was a factor. Despite her constant back and forth about herself, she feared being associated with them.
Being Morrowin was enough as it was, and though no one she knew was privy to that knowledge, she was blatantly aware that if they did find out and she happened to be associated with Jedi, she might as well put in her resignation at the sub-ice cantina on Improcco and disappear.
Therefore, she kept both of these things to herself.
Until now.
It was inevitable— him arriving.
She supposed that she was stupid for even showing face at this establishment on her day off for the week. Even more now, after her outburst and the undeniable fact that she'd just accidentally killed a man, she was considering lying and saying she pushed him with her hands in protest of his sinful actions.
She shouldn't have come here; that much was obvious now. The only luck that came her way in this situation was that there were only two other people within the building when it happened.
