As Nueng thoughtfully stared at his lover, the latter smiled gratefully.

"Thank you for defending me, Nueng."

The young man simply shrugged, seeming to think it was perfectly normal.

"All I did was speak the truth. I'm happy with you and there's no reason to hide it."

Just as he hadn't hidden his feelings towards him

Just as he hadn't hidden his feelings towards him. As he thought this, Palm's smile widened significantly.

"That's true... you're right. But I never imagined my father would react so positively..."

This admission prompted Nueng to laugh mockingly beside him.

"So you see, when you let me do as I please, things don't turn out so badly."

Palm could hardly contain himself from laughing back when he heard this comment, telling himself that his modesty was legendary. But he could only testify that Nueng was an exceptional person, after all, so he was completely forgiven.

"Hm... I can feel that," replied Palm, kissing him on the top of the head, and this act of tenderness did not leave Nueng indifferent.

"I couldn't have chosen someone better than you," the latter whispered in his ear, giggling like a child receiving the gift of his dreams at Christmas. "That proves true."

Palm bit his lip in an attempt to contain his excessive joy. With his mischievous expression, Nueng was really not afraid of anything... ... and certainly not of giving his lover a special place in his life, nor of claiming it.

"Be careful," Palm warned him with a teasing half-smile modelled on that of his boyfriend. "I may make myself at home a bit too much, after that..."

"But you totally may," retorted Nueng, who had raised his voice slightly to silence his uncertainties once and for all. "Since you're at home here too..."

His cheeks flushed faintly as these last words left his mouth

His cheeks flushed faintly as these last words left his mouth. And as he listened, Palm's heart raced again and his eyes lit up, as if he'd just told him the most beautiful poem.
