The grand wedding of Rekha's daughter was a spectacle to behold. The venue was adorned with lush floral arrangements, shimmering lights, and a vibrant array of traditional decorations. The air was filled with the melodious strains of classical music and the joyful chatter of guests. Ananya, Rihaan, and the Mehra family arrived in their finest attire, ready to partake in the festivities.
Rihaan’s eyes were wide with wonder as he took in the grandeur of the event. He marveled at the elaborate decorations, the rich colors, and the elaborate rituals. Every corner of the venue seemed to offer something new and exciting for him to explore. His curiosity was piqued, and he wandered around with boundless enthusiasm, munching on snacks and savoring the array of delectable treats laid out for the guests.
Ananya made sure to stay close to Rihaan. She understood how overwhelming such events could be for him, and she didn’t want him to get lost in the crowd. She gently guided him through the various stages of the wedding, ensuring he had everything he needed and was comfortable amidst the commotion.
"Rihaan, stay close to me," Ananya said softly, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "There's a lot going on, and I want to make sure you’re okay."
Rihaan looked up at her with a big, happy smile. "Okay, Anya!" He roamed his eyes on the food counters. "Anya, Look at all the food!" he exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement as he eyed a tray of colorful sweets.
"Yes, there’s plenty of food. Just don’t eat too much, okay?" Ananya advised, though she couldn’t help but smile at his enthusiasm.
As the wedding ceremony progressed, Ananya and Rihaan settled into their seats, watching the various rituals with interest. The highlight of the ceremony was the saath phere—the seven rounds that symbolize the vows taken by the bride and groom. Ananya noticed Rihaan’s fascination as he watched the couple walk around the sacred fire, each round signifying a promise made to one another.
Rihaan’s gaze was fixed on the ritual. He nudged Ananya and asked curiously, "Anya, what are they doing?"
"They’re taking vows," Ananya explained. "It’s a special part of the wedding where the bride and groom promise to be together for the rest of their lives."
"Like we did?" Rihaan asked, his eyes widening slightly. "You and me?"
Ananya hesitated for a moment, then nodded, smiling softly. "Yes, we also did something like that."
Rihaan’s brows furrowed in concentration. He was fascinated by the concept but didn’t fully understand it. Though he didn’t grasp the full meaning of marriage, he understood that Ananya was his life partner.
As the ceremony continued, he overheard some of the family members teasing the newlyweds. "Finally, you’re husband and wife now!" they joked, their voices filled with playful excitement.
"Husband and wife?" Rihaan repeated softly to himself, his mind buzzing with curiosity. He pondered the term but didn’t ask anyone for clarification. Everyone seemed too busy enjoying the celebration, and Rihaan didn’t want to interrupt.
Throughout the evening, Rihaan continued to explore, enjoying every bit of the wedding's grandeur. He sampled every dish he could find, delighting in the variety of flavors. From the rich biryanis to the sweet rasgullas, he indulged with childlike glee. Ananya kept a watchful eye on him, ensuring he didn’t overeat while still allowing him to enjoy himself.
