TW: Panic attack
"You were dazzling out there, sunshine," Brooke was pulled from her daze as Finnick intertwined his arms with hers.
She realized she had been wandering in the lobby of the training center, Ray and the rest of their team already in an elevator.
She felt so tired, now that the adrenaline and nervous energy from the interviews was slowly fading.
Finnick and her took another elevator, jammed full with other victors and tributes, and Brooke icily noticed the blonde from the crowd.
Finnick pushed her up against one side of the wall as they all jostled to fit, she let out a small noise of surprise as he faced her with his arm above her head, smiling down at her, she stood there, not sure if this display should be seen by everyone else looking at them, the sneering blonde, Cashmere, was looking at her like she was a piece of dirty trash, her tribute Velvet had his eyes all over her, but Finnick reached up as the elevator stopped on the first floor momentarily, gently moving her head so her eyes were on him.
"Eyes on me, darling," Brooke was too exhausted to make a quip at him, and to be honest she didn't mind staring into Finnick's sea green eyes, she didn't even realize when the elevator door opened, and Finnick smirking at her little trance, pulled her from the elevator onto the fourth floor.
He kept an arm linked through hers as he walked her to the only door on the floor, across from the elevators, and opened it to the large flat occupied only by District Four's occupants.
"This ones a little tired," he drawled to the high energy room jokingly as Brooke and Ray's team bustled around in the open space, readying to get snacks and watch the replay of the interviews on screen.
"We'll just watch it for a bit," Maddox bargained as he hustled over to the lush couches in the sitting room.
"Oh my Brooke, you were to die for, out there," her prep team praised.
Brooke frowned, too tired to smile, thinking how that compliment made her sound like a sweet treat.
Ray smiled in understanding at her daze, he sat down beside Mags, who reached up and patted his hand to show her pride for him.
"I did good?" he asked her, Mags nodded and continued offering that warm smile that made everyone feel so safe around her.
Ray turned to look up at Brooke again, "The expert says we did pretty good out there Brookie," Brooke forced herself to give a small smile to the old lady in appreciation. She did have an amazing way of helping them through this, even without words. Mags patted the cushion next to her.
Maddox fiddled with the tv remote beside Vexen, Azari gave a nod of silent approval in her own chair in the room.
Finnick didn't let go of her as he led her to the seat beside Mags on the long couch, and sat down with her right next to him.
