Tree was walking through the dim forest, his comfort place.

But today, he didn't feel comforted.

Their all looking at you.

He shuddered, and looked around. There's nothing there..

Ever since he was just a little sapling, he was only afraid of one thing.

Being watched.

Recently, he'd been feeling more.. scared. Of everything

Even when he was alone, he wasn't safe from the feeling. He could feel eyes watching him, he feared there was someone hidden amongst the trees, watching.

"Don't be silly.. There's no one there.." he mumbled to himself, and tried to calm down. But still, a bead of sweat ran down his leaves.

He continued walking, keeping his eyes down, but still glancing to the side every so often.

There's someone watching.

Their watching.

Always.

Trees leaves rustled anxiously, some falling gently to the ground.

Look. Look at them.

Their all watching you.

Tree looked around frantic,

There were dark, broken eyes.

All judgementaly staring, watching.

Tree started to run, he covered his own eyes, and ran.

He ran for a while.

Until he tripped over a large rock. He fell face first onto the dirt.

He lied there for a moment, breathing heavily.

He lied there for a while.

He dug his fingers into the dirt, and pushed himself back up again.

He then leant against a tree trunk, and hugged his legs close to his body, and he ever so slightly rocked back and forth.

Coward.

Get over yourself.

Look at them. Face them.

Tree covered his eyes, and screwed them tightly shut.

And for the first time in a long time, he cried.

Far away, Black Hole was looking for him, calling his name.

"Tre-ee??" He called out, floating around.

Maybe he went for a walk.. I'm pretty sure I saw him go into the woods?.. he thought.

"I hate it when people walk away and not let anyone know where they go!" Fanny shouted huffing, and sitting down. Black Hole sighed and floated up slightly higher.

He went over the forest, keeping a close lookout for his little friend.
"Tree, are you around here?" He called

Down below, Tree jumped at the sudden voice, and decided to keep quiet. He couldn't let anyone see him like this..

Black Hole floated away slowly, still calling for Tree. He felt slightly worried now.

Tree slowly got up from his spot, and started walking back from where he came, following the footprints he had left behind.

He kept his eyes firmly glued to the ground, not risking seeing..that.. again.

He rubbed his eyes and sighed as he approached the end of his path back, he stepped back into the sunlight, and braced himself to see the others.

Black Hole and Fanny saw him first. Fanny rushed over and she yelled at him, "where the hell were you! You were worrying us! I hate being worried!", Black Hole lowered closer to the ground, "yea, you kinda.. did.. are you ok?" He asked, sounding concerned.

Tree nodded, trying to avoid conversation. "Sorry.." he mumbled. Black Hole noticed, and started backing away, "Fanny, c'mon, lets find something else to do.." Fanny rolled her eyes, but followed along.

That night, Tree had a nightmare.

I was standing in the forest, alone. It was very dark..

All I could see was the vague outline of a tree, and..

Eyes.

Glowing, angry, eyes.

I couldn't move, I couldn't run.. I was so scared..

Closer and closer, it surrounded me..

A sharp knife appeared in my hand, and I knew what I had to do.

Tree woke up with a gasp, drenched in cold sweat, trembling violently.

His heart pounding, he held his hand to his chest to make sure that the dream was just, indeed, a dream.

Nothing.

He took a deep breath, and tried to calm himself down.

Just a dream.. just a dream.. calm down..

He sighed, still shaking slightly.

He lied back down, and covered his eyes..

Eyes..

No..

He started to slide back into the dream.

And it repeated.

Over and over.

Every night.
