Mae waited on her bed while Anya got dressed.

"Ready!" Anya called out.

"Finally," Mae sighed, getting up.

The two friends headed to the car that would take them to the hotel. As they walked into the lobby, Mae spotted Javon from a distance, his familiar smile making her look away, remembering the morning's incident.

"Come on, Anya, I need to tell you something," Mae said, grabbing her friend's hand.

"What's up?" Anya asked, following her.

Mae led the way to her room. Once inside, she plopped down on her bed.

"So, you know when we were checking out Javon's Insta and TikTok..." Mae began.

"Oh no... no, no," Anya laughed. "Beginner's mistake."

"I know," Mae chuckled, her embarrassment evident.

"You really liked his photo?" Anya asked, still laughing.

Mae tried to defend herself. "It was an accident."

Anya continued to tease her friend but eventually managed to stop. "Don't worry... but what did he say?"

"He messaged me something like, 'Next time you stalk someone, don't like their photo, or they might find out 😉'," Mae explained.

"Wow," Anya laughed.

"We should get changed and hit the slopes," Mae suggested.

"Let's do it," Anya agreed, heading to the wardrobe.

The two friends changed and made their way to the slopes. After enjoying the day on the pistes, they returned to the hotel and spotted Javon.

Javon approached them with a friendly smile. "Hey, how's it going?"

"Hey! All good, and you?" both friends responded simultaneously.

"I'm good," Javon said.

Anya took a step back. "I'll leave you two to chat," she said, giving Mae a knowing look before walking away.

Mae rolled her eyes and sighed quietly. "She's crazy..." she murmured.

Javon chuckled softly and turned to Mae. "So, did you find my Insta?"

"Shut up..." Mae replied, feeling a bit awkward.

Javon laughed again. "I must say, I looked pretty good in those photos, didn't I?"

Mae sighed. "You're not so humble, are you?"

"Just kidding," Javon said with a grin. "But seriously, you looked great on your Insta too."

"Oh—uh... well... thanks... that's really nice of you..." Mae replied, her cheeks flushing.

Javon laughed lightly. "Is it just me, or are you blushing?"

"No, it's just the cold," Mae laughed, trying to play it cool.

"Sure..." Javon said with a teasing look. "I saw you gliding on the slopes. You're really talented."

"Thanks..." Mae said, feeling slightly more at ease.

"Anytime. So, what would you like to do later?" Javon asked.

Mae smiled. "I'd love to be a cosmetic surgeon someday."

Javon's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Wow... but I hope you won't get any surgery yourself because you're already very beautiful," he said, blushing slightly.

She blushed too. "Aww, thanks, that's really sweet."

"So, which university are you aiming for?" Javon inquired.

"I'd love to go to Oxford or Stanford if possible," she said with a slight smile.

Javon looked impressed. "So, I'm talking to a genius here."

"Not really..." Mae laughed.

"By the way, I saw you don't have many followers, so I did a bit of digging and found out you're a vlogger. Is that right?"

"Yes, I didn't think you'd find that," Mae said with a smile.

"You've got two million subscribers, so I checked out your vlogs and enjoyed them. I saw some are in French, so do you speak French?" Javon asked.

"Yes, it's one of the languages spoken in Switzerland, along with German, Italian, and Romansh."

Javon nodded, impressed. "Okay, and do you and Anya speak French together?"

"Yeah, we mix French and English, a bit of Spanglish, but we call it Franglish," Mae explained.

"Okay, okay, but wait, so you also speak German and Italian?"

"I speak Italian and Romansh, and I'm learning German," Mae replied.

Javon's eyebrows lifted in surprise. "Wow... I'd love to speak so many languages."

Mae laughed lightly. "You can always learn."

"True," he said, shrugging.

Mae and Anya decided to go snowboarding together. The crisp mountain air and the thrill of the slopes gave Mae a new energy. As they finished their snowboarding session, Anya had to head to the dentist, leaving Mae to her own devices.

Feeling a bit peckish, Mae decided to grab a hot chocolate from the hotel café. She was stirring her drink when she spotted Javon across the room. Feeling bold, she approached him.

"Hey, Javon," she said with a smile, "I was thinking... would you like to go ice skating? There's a rink on the frozen lake nearby."

Javon's eyes lit up. "That sounds like fun! I'd love to."

"Great! I'll just finish my hot chocolate, and we can head over," Mae said.

Javon nodded, his smile growing. "See you there!"

Mae finished her drink and walked to the rink, where she found Javon waiting for her. The ice rink was beautifully set up, and the winter evening had cast a magical glow over the frozen lake.

As they began to skate, Mae and Javon chatted about various topics. Javon mentioned his siblings, and Mae was curious to meet them.

"Actually, my sister Jayla and my twin Jaden are here too. They're probably around somewhere," Javon said.

"Really? I'd love to meet them," Mae replied, genuinely interested.

Soon, Jayla and Jaden joined them on the ice. Jayla, a few years older than Javon, had a warm smile and a friendly presence. Jaden, being Javon's twin, shared his easygoing nature.

"Hey, Jayla, Jaden, this is Mae. She's been great fun to hang out with," Javon introduced.

Jayla extended her hand with a welcoming smile. "Nice to meet you, Mae. Is Mae your full name or do you have a longer one?"

Mae chuckled. "Actually, Mae isn't my full name but t's a bit short and simple, it suits me."

Jayla nodded, looking intrigued. "It's lovely. I'm Jayla, and this is Jaden. We've heard a lot about you from Javon."

Jaden grinned. "All good things, I hope."

Mae laughed. "Definitely! It's great to finally meet you both."

The group skated together, laughing and enjoying the evening. As they chatted, Mae and Javon found themselves slipping back into easy conversation, and the day ended on a high note with Mae feeling like she had made some new friends.
