1. Two Mistakes

Halil Ibrahim was trying to not think about Her. He closed his eyes and willed his mind to think about anything and everything but Her. It's been more than 4 months since the love of his life has refused to know him, her husband, her childhood love with whom she has shared her heart, body and soul. She asked him in front of a judge "Sen Kimsin?". (Who are you?)

He can still hear her words echo in his mind, and in these moments, he reflects on his life. Is he doing the right thing? Should he tell her everything? Then he remembers all the hardships he has gone through to be here; he has lived his life to achieve one goal. That goal is the only reason he is alive today. His goal is bigger than him and Zeynep. Only if Zeynep could understand, only if she could stay with him without wanting to know him. Only if she could believe all the white lies and all the stories he makes up. His heart burns to reveal everything to her, but he cannot reveal himself, because he is not a whole person, he is a shadow. A shadow doesn't have an identity. Major was correct. He is not made for happily married life and children.

Halil Ibrahim thinks he has only made one mistake in his life, that is burning that plane ticket. He shouldn't have ever given to wishes of his heart. How could he?

But how could he not? When The Zeynep Leto, the girl he has been in love with since he was just 10 years old has proposed a fake marriage to him, how in the world could he say no?  There was no power in this world who could have allowed him to make those beautiful blue eyes sad. He couldn't say no to this opportunity which he was dreaming since childhood. He had never even imagined Zeynep being Zeynep Karasu in his wildest dreams. Because all these months that he spent with her could not have hold light to any dream he has dreamt.

Halil Ibrahim sighs when the door opens, and in rushes Fikret. Fikret has been pestering him all these months to make peace with Zeynep. He loves they guy, but Fikret has started to annoy him by asking him to get back with Zeynep, when it was not his decision to separate.

"Halil Ibrahim", greets Fikret.

Halil Ibrahim nods to his ex-brother in-law who looked haphazard and anxious, which in turn makes Halil Ibrahim nervous. Halil braces himself for bad news and asks about Zeynep's well-being.

"She is leaving this place, forever." says Fikret.

His brain froze. All these months when he was angry with her, when he was trying to spite her by going to dinner with Didem, when he was trying to hurt her with all those angry glares, all those angry twisted words, he hadn't fathomed her ever leaving this place. She loves Karadeniz, all her loves ones are here, why would she then up and leave?

"Because of you", his mind says.

Can you live without her? Now that you have tasted heaven, will you be able to love a life of mere mortal. His body strung up with all the energy, as if his body rejected the news of her leaving the place forever. He felt lump in his throat and a huge hole in his heart, an emptiness which cannot be filled ever. Since the hope of them ever reconciling is leaving with her.

"When is her flight?" He asks Fikret in such urgency and determination which baffles Fikret. Fikret stares at his bone headed brother in-law as if he has grown two heads, when Shota answers

"She is on her way to airport"

Halil Ibrahim rushes out of the door with his jacket and car keys and jumps in his car. He starts the engine and smiles to himself thinking he is about to commit the second mistake of his life.

He is about to kidnap Zeynep. He smirks to himself, and steps on the gas with all his might. His car flies towards the direction of the airport and doesn't stop until his ex wife's blue car comes into his sight.

He speeds along the way and stops in front of her, forcing her to urgently brake. He gets out of his car and watches her face morph from shock to disbelief to anger. She gets out of the car fuming, about to tell him off when he suddenly bends and picks her up the same way he had picked her up from her wedding ceremony. He dumps her in his car, and winks at her before closing the door.

Zeynep was too shocked to even react or move to open the door.

Breaking out of her reverie by shaking her head, she looks at Halil Ibrahim with disbelief.

"Ne yapıyorsun Halil Ibrahim?" (What are you doing?)

"Sen ne yapıyorsun?" (What are you doing?) asks Zeynep angrily while trying to unsuccessfully open the door to get out of the car.

He looks at her inflamed face, and brings it closer to his to give her the kiss of her life, tongue and all which shuts her up quick. He pecks her lips once again, rubs his nose to hers and sets the direction towards his family's summer house located in the mountains.
