Chapter 65: Dreamy Resort

Upon seeing Yu Yangxu walking toward them, Zhuang Niannian's expression relaxed in an instant, no longer as flustered as before. Qi Zhanpeng, standing beside her, inexplicably felt relieved as well, but he couldn't help but feel his face darken when he observed his girlfriend's reaction.

His gaze toward Yu Yangxu shifted unpredictably between hope and dread. Yet, when Yu Yangxu's eyes scanned the area, Qi Zhanpeng felt a jolt of fear and instinctively averted his gaze.

Yu Yangxu seemed to disregard Qi Zhanpeng entirely, not pausing to acknowledge him at all—his presence was as insignificant as that of an ant by the roadside.

If only he had been born into a family like the Yu family...

Qi Zhanpeng couldn't help but feel a surge of resentment, and his once-handsome face twisted in agony, the whites of his eyes turning red.

It wasn't until Zhuang Niannian tugged at his sleeve that he shuddered and snapped back to reality.

In stark contrast to Zhuang Niannian's joyful demeanor, the players who had previously been so confident now looked as pale as death.

The leading male player cursed, "Didn't they say that Yu Yangxu wasn't here? What's going on now?"

But no amount of cursing could change the fact. Yu Yangxu, this notoriously ill-tempered special NPC, was well-known among players—if Zhuang Niannian disclosed what had just happened, the tyrant of the Yu family would certainly seize the opportunity to kick them all out of the villa.

No reward from any clue task was worth more than their lives. The players, disregarding Zhuang Niannian and Qi Zhanpeng's unusual behavior, turned pale with horror and began to flee.

They scattered chaotically like sheep encountering a pack of vicious wolves, without any sense of direction or command.

Before Fu Yanghui withdrew his gaze, he briefly made eye contact with Yu Yangxu through the chaotic crowd, then turned away without hesitation, leading the players around him to leave.

Just moments ago composed, Yu Yangxu was now like an enraged lion, gritting his teeth and muttering, "This guy..."

The players closest to him were the first to suffer the consequences.

Even in broad daylight, they could sense a chill that was typically reserved for the night. Yu Yangxu was the source of that suffocating dread.

The leading male player, being closest, recalled the rumors he had heard from yesterday to today. Instead of retreating, he took a step toward Yu Yangxu.

Seeing the astonishment on Yu Yangxu's face, the male player felt he had guessed right and broke into a grin, one that was both twisted with excitement and tinged with an uncontrollable fear, his voice shaking:

"Yu Yangxu, you're not human, are you?!"

Yu Yangxu's movements froze. With his back to the sunlight, his striking features were obscured by shadows.

The smile on the male player's face widened as he sensed that his gamble had paid off. The system had given an additional hint last night, stating that non-human entities hidden within the crowd would have a certain probability of disappearing when identified. Everyone said that the two special NPCs from the Yu family weren't among them, but now he was eager to see who would dispute that.

The male player's smile froze on his face.

Yu Yangxu took a step forward, his usual aura of intimidation enveloping him. The confusion on his face was brief, as if he were curious about why this "corpse" before him wasn't afraid or fleeing. That curiosity quickly morphed into indifference and cruelty directed at the player.
