Henrietta "Henrie" Jones had always believed that life was about control. From the moment she could hold a pencil, she had been drawing straight lines—clean, defined, and perfectly planned. She built her world the way she built her architectural designs: with precision, purpose, and an unwavering belief in her ability to stay ahead.

And then came Tate Adams.

Tate didn't draw lines; he erased them. Where Henrie thrived on rules and structure, Tate was chaos in motion. He challenged her in ways no one else dared to, pushing her buttons, questioning her choices, and, more often than not, stealing the spotlight she had worked so hard to stand under.

For years, they'd danced this dance—Henrie was standing firm, and Tate pulled her just far enough off balance to keep her frustrated but never wholly thrown. It was a game they'd both perfected. Rivals by reputation, their clashes had become the stuff of office gossip, fueling whispered conversations in the breakroom and sending sparks flying at every design pitch.

But Henrie was done playing. She had a new plan that didn't involve Tate Adams and his infuriating smirk. This time, she would win; when she did, there would be no more room for distractions or detours—just her and the future she'd been building brick by brick.

Henrie didn't realize that Tate wasn't the obstacle in her path.

He was the blueprint for everything she'd been missing.
