In the morning before we even ate breakfast we moved everyone inside. Lori, Rick, and Carl, got Hershel's room. That's how I found out that Lori was pregnant, she must be really early because she's slim so I feel like I would see a bump by now. Beth moved into Maggie's room, Carol and I moved into Beth's room, Hershel moved into the guest room upstairs with Glenn, Zach and Dean got the guest room on the main floor and Daryl, Shane, and T-Dog got the couches in the living room.
Once we got everyone moved inside, Daryl, Dean, T-Dog and Rick went and buried Dale then we had a funeral for him. I've never been to a funeral in my entire life and I have a feeling that this is going to be a regular thing in this world. Everyone today has been quiet and grieving, it makes sense. I only knew Dale for a couple days and even I'm sad. He was a sweet man, he didn't deserve to die, especially not like that.
I see Daryl and Rick talking then I see Rick gesturing me over.
"What's up?" I look at them as I walk over to them.
"Have you ever been on a run before?" Rick questions and I nod. "We need supplies, Lori needs some prenatal vitamins and we need to replenish the pain meds. I was wondering if you'd be okay with going with Daryl? Normally I would ask Glenn but he's really upset about Dale and I don't want anyone out there being distracted."
"Yeah I can do that." I nod as I look at Daryl and I see him staring at me. Daryl and I really don't talk much, honestly we haven't talked to each other since the first day I woke up. I know I shouldn't but I just have some resentment towards him.
"Thank you, Sami." Rick smiles handing me a list.
"When do you want to leave?" I look over at Daryl.
"Does now work?" He questions and I nod.
"Yeah let me just tell Zach and grab my bag. I'll drive." I go inside and find Zach.
"Hey Daryl and I are going to go on a run. I'll be back okay?" I shake his hair out. "If anything happens, you find Dean or Rick, okay?"
"Yes." He nods. "Be safe, okay?" He hugs me tightly.
"Always." I smile then grab my bag and weapon from my room and head outside to my truck. I get inside and start driving once Daryl gets into the truck.
"Which way do I go?" I look over at him.
"Once you're on the main road, you turn right and then the town is only about four miles away. The shop will be on your right." He explains and I nod. We sit in very uncomfortable silence for a couple of minutes.
"I understand why you did it." I sigh. "Why you shot me. I would've done the same thing if I thought someone was going to hurt Zach."
"I know you would've." He jokes.
"ha ha ha." I say in a mocking tone.
"I am sorry that I did it. We had just been attacked on the last run and we lost someone, her name was Andrea, I didn't want it to happen again." He explains and I nod.
"Like I said, I get it." I park outside of the store.
"So why start talking to me now?" He looks at me as we get out of the truck.
"Well since Zach and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon, I figured I'd have to talk to you eventually. I want to be able to trust the people I'm with and right now I don't trust you." I look at him.
"That's okay." He nods. "I don't trust you that much either."
"Why?" I look at him. "What have I done to you?"
"Nothing." He shrugs as he taps the glass on the window to see if anyone or anything is in there. "I just don't believe you would do what's best for the group. I think you would do whatever is best for Zach." I guess that's fair.
