Reaching Out

Prologue

"So how long will you be in North Carolina?"

 I was on the phone with my Best Friend since 12. We met when I  used to live here in North Carolina.  When I was 15, my mom got a job in Washington, So I moved out and said Good Bye to all my friends.

In Washington, my mom met this guy named Keith.  Keith is the proper show off. He is loaded with money and is never afraid to show off his expensive cars, our huge house, of his love for my mom. At first I wasn't to fond of him. I always thought he was a jerk and I also thought my mom could do way better. But now that I have known him for 3 years, Its safe to say, he is actually a really sweet guy once you get to know him.

"I think till the end of August." I call back into my phone to Sophia. I haven't seen her since I was 15. Its been 18 years, and I miss her so much.

"Oh my gosh! That means you will be here for 4 months? No way!" Sophia screams as I pull the phone away from my ear slightly.

"Yeah, I know right! I just don't get why Keith and my mom don't take me with them though, you know? Like I'm excited for North Carolina... But traveling around the world seems like ideal for summer."

"Yeah, I understand... But I promise you, This summer will be the best we ever have!" I laugh as suddenly feel an urge of excitement. Maybe she was right, maybe this summer will be a blast.

"AHH, I cant wait!" I say smiling through the phone.

"When will you be here?"

"Im going to start driving tonight... Its going to be so long of a drive oh my god."

"You've got that right. Well you better start packing then, I will leave you alone now." Sophia yawns through the phone as I laugh at her.

"Get some sleep, and I will see you soon."

"I cant wait!" Sophia says, and at that the line ends.

I throw my phone down on my pillows, as I flop down at my bed and close my eyes. This summer better be the best, and I cant wait to start it.
