The next morning, the sun sparkled off the fresh layer of snow as Mae and Anya raced down the hill on their sleds, squealing with delight. The cold air nipped at their cheeks, but laughter warmed their spirits.

After a few thrilling runs, Mae spotted Javon walking nearby, bundled up in his black puffer jacket and beanie, looking effortlessly cool. An idea popped into her head, and she scooped up a big handful of snow, forming it into a snowball.

"Javon!" she called, her eyes gleaming with mischief.

As he turned, Mae launched the snowball, hitting him squarely on the shoulder. "Nice shot!" he laughed, feigning shock, and quickly bent down to gather his own ammunition.

"Oh, it's on now!" he shouted, his playful grin contagious.

The snowball fight began in earnest, with Mae giggling and dodging his throws, but Javon was careful to keep things light and gentle, not wanting to hurt her. "Is that all you've got?" she teased, scooping up another snowball.

"Just warming up!" he replied, smirking, and launched another snowball her way.

After a few minutes of playful banter and laughter, they found themselves face to face, both breathing heavily from the exertion and excitement. In a moment of spontaneity, Mae scooped up a pile of snow and threw it directly at Javon, who ducked but couldn't escape the flurry that hit him.

"You little snow monster!" he laughed, his eyes sparkling. "You're going to pay for that!"

But instead of retaliating, he stepped closer, and in a playful moment, they both lunged toward each other, laughing as they tumbled into a heap of snow.

"Alright, truce!" Mae gasped, half-buried in snow, her cheeks flushed from laughter and cold.

"Truce?" he asked, leaning over her, his smile softening as he looked into her eyes.

"Only if you promise not to throw another snowball... for at least five minutes."

"Deal," she said, playfully nudging him.

As they slowly got back up, Javon surprised her by wrapping his arms around her in a warm hug, and Mae melted into the embrace, feeling a rush of warmth in the freezing air. It was their first hug, and it felt special, like they were sharing a secret moment just between them.

"See? Not so bad being cozy, is it?" he teased, pulling back slightly to meet her gaze.

"No, it's not," Mae replied, grinning. "But if you keep hugging me like that, I might just start getting used to it."

They both laughed, the chemistry between them palpable.

Later, as they walked back toward the lodge, Anya was a few steps ahead, observing the playful banter between them with a knowing smile. She decided to send a quick text to Javon, her fingers flying over the screen.

Anya: hey, you! how's the snow monster mae treating you?

Javon: haha, she's fierce! almost took me out a few times.

Anya: well you should know how to handle her 😉

Javon: what do you mean?
