They were winners, or world champions, whatever you liked to call them.

They had made a comeback from a 30 runs in 30 balls situation and clinched a magnificent victory.

Then what was making Rohit want to freeze the time whenever he saw Rahul Dravid?

The Head Coach or their Rahul bhai, was currently holding the fricking world cup in his hands, his eyes shining with joy. And Rohit's eyes glistened when he saw the happiness in his eyes.

"Rahul bhai kitne khush lag rahe na yaar", Virat said, putting an arm around Rohit.

Smiling, Rohit wiped his tears and said, "Honge bhi kyu na? He got what he deserved, what he always fought for. Champion aaj officially champion ban gaye hai."

Virat chuckled, "Chal phir, let's give the champion the farewell he deserves."

Ignoring the ache in his heart, Rohit went along with Virat and they both informed the others too, of what they were planning to do. The young boys were instantly excited, and together, taking a confused Rahul bhai by surprise, all of them picked him up and lifted him in the air, as a gesture of love and admiration they had for the 'wall' of cricket.

When they finally put him down, the boys attacked him in a hug once more, and Rohit looked at the scene fondly.

His Rahul bhai, the pillar of their team, was enveloped in a sea of affection from his players. He watched how they gathered around him, wanting to be hugged by him, and RD being the kind soul he was, patiently attended to each of their calls, hugging them or ruffling their hair in a gesture so familiar to Rohit, that he could not bear to watch anymore.

He turned around to wipe his tears, when a voice from behind, called him.

"Hello Mr Busy, mind giving this old man of yours, a hug too?"

Rohit smiled and said, "Aap, or old Rahul bhai? Aap to mujhse aur Virat se bhi young ho."

"Bas bas, ab itna mat chadao mujhe", Rahul said, approaching Rohit with a gentle smile, with a smile Rohit had always associated with home. "So, world cup winning captain and all, huh? Kaisa lag raha hai?"

"Bohot accha lag raha hai, world cup winning coach", Rohit said smiling. "And I hope you know, that none of this would have happened without you, bhai."

Rahul shook his head and kept his hand on Rohit's shoulder. "Don't change the topic, Ro. Tell me, what's wrong?"

"I- I...Mahi bhai, you....how do y'all always know?" Rohit whined.

Because we know you, little Ro, Rahul wanted to say, but he smiled and said, "That is a story for your boys to know and you to not find out."

"Acha?" Rohit grinned. "When will you tell them?"

"When we meet for the next- ", Rahul said and stopped when he realized that them meeting in the next series, was never going to happen again. "Never mind that- I will make sure it reaches to them, okay, Ro?" Seeing Rohit not responding, he prodded him again and asked, "Where are you lost, kid?"

Kid. He is his Rahul bhai's kid. No, he was his Rahul bhai's kid. Will he ever remain the same to the man?

"Rahul bhai, are you...are you happy?" Rohit asked instead.

"Happy?" Rahul chuckled. "I am happy, thrilled, ecstatic, all the synonyms you know of."

"Good. I- I...I always wished to see you this happy, Rahul bhai", said Rohit. "I always wanted to make you scream with joy, with pride, hold the cup like you are holding today- I... I always wished to make you proud of me."

The last part was said almost in whispers, but Rahul just caught enough to understand.

"And you did. Believe me, you did."

"Really, bhai?"

Rahul pulled the captain in his arms, offering the little boy inside, the reassurance he needed.

"You made me a world cup winning coach, captain. What more do I need to say?"

"Not with that official crap, bhai!" Rohit tsked. "Did your...uh....I- well, never mind. Thank you, I will- I will see you later."

"You made your captain proud too, little Ro", Rahul said with a small, fond smile and Rohit's eyes suddenly had a burning sensation. "You've made your Rahul bhai, the happiest man today. India is proud of you Rohit Sharma, but I am prouder of my little Ro. Proved it to the entire world, haven't you kiddo?"

"I don't care about the world", said Rohit suddenly hugging Rahul again. "Only you matter to me."

Rahul wiped his tears from the back of his hand, and ran a hand through his boys' hair.

"Aap mat jao na, bhai", Rohit said suddenly. "Don't go na please. I have no clue what to do without you, absolutely no clue."

Rahul blinked back his tears and pulled the boy closer. "Rohit, what did you, Virat and Jaddu, tell Jassi, Yashu, Harry and all the kids?"

"About what?"

"You retiring."

"We told them that we will always be there for them, and that our bond exceeds more then the length Chris Gayle's longest six, which essentially means that it exceeds more than the boundaries of the cricket field but I made it up because I did not want them to cry."

Rahul laughed, "And that, my boy, is exactly what I am going to tell you now. Our bond exceeds more than then the length of Rohit Sharma's longest six-"

Rohit pulled back to look at him, surprised, when Rahul continued, "- because mere liye to bas mere us bacche ke sixes matter karte hai, jo mere paas pehli baar aaya tha jab woh 20 saal ka tha. I promise, kiddo, I will always be just a call away for you, for all of you. I love you all way too much be completely away from you."

"And I know, that my Rohit, be off field or on field, will always make me proud"

"I love you too, Rahul bhai. Thank you, for believing in me."
