Nami's POV
I still can't believe it. I’m finally out of the hospital. After what felt like forever—months of treatments, tests, and everything in between—I’m actually free. No more beeping machines, no more nurses waking me up every two hours. I’m out. And tonight, the whole squad is here, celebrating my "comeback" at Stacy’s place, where I’ll be staying for a while.
The vibe is chill. We didn’t go all out or anything—no loud music, no alcohol, just everyone hanging out like old times. It's exactly what I need after being stuck in that sterile, depressing hospital for so long.
“Yo, Nams, how’s it feel to finally be outta that place?” Jeongin asks, sprawled out on the couch with his usual grin.
I chuckle, rubbing a hand over my bald head. “Honestly? Weird. It’s like I spent so long in there, I almost forgot what normal life feels like. But... it feels good.”
“You’re free now,” Hyunjin says softly beside me. His hand is resting in mine, and even though it’s a simple gesture, it feels like everything. We’re sitting close, not saying much, but it’s enough.
Jisung, who's on the floor next to Felix, raises his soda can like he’s toasting. “To Nami! The toughest chick I know. You seriously kicked cancer’s ass.”
I laugh, shaking my head. “Thanks, Ji, but it wasn’t just me.”
Felix, sitting cross-legged and quiet as usual, just smiles at me with this calm, reassuring look that says, I knew you’d make it through. He doesn’t need to say anything. That’s what I love about him—he’s always been so steady, so positive, even when I wasn’t sure myself. He looks at me like everything’s already okay, like this was never in doubt.
"You did it, though," Stacy pipes up from her spot on the armchair. “You seriously fought through all that, and now here you are. You look so badass, by the way.”
I roll my eyes. “You guys are way too excited about me being bald.”
“You’re rockin’ it, Nams,” Changbin chimes in from across the room. “Honestly, you make it look cool.”
Everyone laughs, and for a moment, I just look around at them all, feeling this overwhelming sense of gratitude. These people have been with me every step of the way, never letting me go through any of this alone.
“Thanks, guys,” I say, my voice soft. “I mean it. I wouldn’t have made it without you.”
“You didn’t need us,” Seungmin says, leaning back with a casual smile. “You had it in you the whole time.”
“Nah, but it helped knowing you guys were here,” I admit, glancing at all of them. “Especially on the days when I didn’t think I could do it anymore.”
“Because we’re a team,” Changbin says, nodding. “We’ve always got your back.”
“And we’re not going anywhere,” Hyunjin adds, squeezing my hand gently. “Ever.”
---
The night keeps rolling, everyone talking, laughing, and just enjoying being together. The room is filled with warmth and a sense of normalcy that I’ve missed so much. Felix hasn’t said much, but every time I catch his eye, he gives me that reassuring smile—like he’s just happy I’m okay.
Jisung is in his usual form, sprawled out on the floor, being all extra. “So, Nams, what’s the first thing you’re gonna do now that you’re free?”
“Sleep in a bed that’s not a hospital bed,” I say, laughing. “And eat real food. Hospital food is actual trash.”
Everyone groans in agreement.
“I think you need a feast,” Jeongin says, sitting up suddenly. “Ramen, BBQ, the works.”
“I’m so down,” I say, feeling my stomach rumble at the thought. “Let’s plan it.”
Lee Know chimes in, “We’ve gotta celebrate properly. Tonight’s chill, but once you’re fully back, we’re doing something big. None of this half-assed stuff.”
I grin. “Alright, I’m holding you to that.”
---
As the night winds down, people start to head out. It hits me, watching everyone leave, that this is real. I’m not going back to that hospital. I’m actually going to sleep in a real bed tonight, under a roof that isn’t sterile and white. It’s kind of blowing my mind.
Jeongin stretches as he gets up. “Alright, I gotta dip. But we’re hanging out soon, okay?”
“For sure,” I say, giving him a hug. “Thanks for coming, Jeongin.”
“Always. You’re a fighter, Nams. Don’t forget that,” he says, flashing a grin before heading out.
Seungmin waves as he follows him. “Get some rest, Nami. You deserve it.”
“Later, Min,” I call after him.
Jisung and Lee Know leave together, Jisung still going off about something, probably about that ramen feast. “We better be doing that soon!” he calls over his shoulder.
“We will, Ji!” I laugh, shaking my head.
Lee Know smirks at me. “See you, Nami. Rest up.”
“You too, Lee Know. Thanks for coming.”
---
After everyone leaves, it’s just me, Hyunjin, and Felix left in Stacy’s cozy living room. Hyunjin’s still holding my hand, quiet but there. Stacy already went upstairs, leaving us alone in this peaceful moment.
Felix stands up, stretching. “I should get going too,” he says softly, glancing at me with that same calm smile.
I smile back. “Thanks for everything, Lix. Seriously.”
He nods, giving me one last look that says, I knew you’d be okay, before heading out the door.
---
Once it’s just me and Hyunjin, we’re still holding hands, just sitting there in the quiet. It’s comfortable, not awkward. We don’t even need to talk. After everything, just being here together is enough.
“You’re home now,” he says quietly, squeezing my hand a little. “No more hospitals, no more treatments.”
I take a deep breath, feeling the truth of those words settle in. “Yeah... I’m finally home.”
Again a short chapter, tell me what you think, and btw i'm so out of ideas, how should it continue???
