Bangchan’s POV
Man, Hyunjin won’t shut up about Nami. And you know what? I don’t even mind. That’s what happens when you're head over heels for someone. Like, I get it. Dude’s completely wrapped around her finger, but in the good way, you know? It's kind of funny, though, watching him try to balance the company and still make time for her. One second he's talking budgets and deadlines, and the next, he's on about how Nami laughed at something he said last night. It's cute.
We’re sitting in his office, going over some contracts for a joint project our companies are working on. Hyunjin’s at his desk, staring at some spreadsheet that’s definitely not holding his attention. I can tell because every five minutes, he’s bringing up Nami. And honestly? I’m totally chill with it.
I mean, I’ve been there, still kinda am. Having a girl in your life that you admire just makes everything better. My girlfriend, Lisa, is pretty much the center of my universe, too. So when Hyunjin starts rambling about Nami, I just sit back and let him go. It’s nice seeing him like this.
"Bro, did I tell you Nami’s coming by the office later?" Hyunjin says, glancing up from his screen. He’s got that goofy grin on his face that only comes out when he’s thinking about her. “She’s been doing so well since she got out of the hospital. It’s crazy how fast she’s bouncing back.”
I nod, leaning back in my chair. “Yeah, man, that’s awesome. She’s a fighter, for real. You must be so proud.”
Hyunjin laughs, rubbing the back of his neck. “You have no idea, dude. I feel like I could talk about her all day.”
And he really could. He kinda already has, but it’s cool. We’re good friends, so if he needs to gush about Nami for the next hour, I’m not gonna stop him.
"Dude, the other day," he continues, getting up from his desk to pace the room, "we were just hanging out at her place, right? And she’s still got this crazy energy, even after everything. I don’t know how she does it. She’s just... amazing."
I chuckle, watching him. “Man, you’ve got it bad. Like, real bad. But hey, that’s how you know it’s real.”
He grins at me, not even trying to deny it. "Yeah, I guess I do. I mean, I know we got together in the middle of all this chaos—between the whole kidnapping thing and then the cancer—but somehow it’s all worked out. It’s kinda crazy when you think about it."
I lean forward, resting my elbows on my knees. “That’s how it goes, bro. Life’s wild like that. You meet someone in the most unexpected way, and then they just become your whole world.”
Hyunjin sighs, a content look on his face. "Yeah... I wasn’t even looking for it, but there she was. And now I can't imagine things without her. I’m telling you, Chan, she makes everything better—even this work stuff. Like, I used to stress so much about the company, but when I think about Nami, it’s like everything just... falls into place, you know?"
I nod again. "Totally. Lisa’s the same way for me. She keeps me grounded, makes all the business stuff feel less heavy. When you’ve got someone like that in your life, it changes everything."
Hyunjin smiles, sitting back down. "Yeah, exactly. You get it. It’s crazy how much of an impact someone can have on you, especially when you weren’t even expecting it."
I smirk, looking at him. "So, what’s next for you two? You gonna pop the question, or what?"
His eyes widen for a second, and then he laughs, shaking his head. "Whoa, whoa, let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. We’re just enjoying being together right now. But... maybe someday, you know? I can see it. She’s special like that."
I raise an eyebrow. “Maybe someday? Dude, the way you talk about her, it sounds like you’re already planning the whole wedding in your head.”
He blushes, but he’s still grinning. "Okay, okay, maybe I’ve thought about it. But not yet. Right now, we’re just taking things day by day. She’s been through enough already, and I don’t want to rush anything."
"Fair enough," I say, leaning back again. “Just don’t wait too long, or she might start wondering what’s taking you so long.”
Hyunjin laughs, shaking his head. "Man, I’m not even worried. She’s not going anywhere, and neither am I."
I give him a nod, feeling genuinely happy for the guy. He deserves this. After everything we’ve been through, seeing him this content, this in love, it’s like a breath of fresh air. And honestly? It reminds me of how lucky I am with Lisa, too. Relationships, man—they really put everything into perspective.
We spend the next hour going over the contracts, but even while we’re working, I can tell his mind keeps drifting back to Nami. It’s written all over his face. Every now and then, he’ll zone out, probably thinking about her, and I’ll just smile to myself. That’s what love does to you. It makes everything else fade into the background.
As we wrap things up, Hyunjin checks his phone, and that grin comes back. "Nami’s almost here. You wanna grab lunch with us?"
I shake my head, standing up and stretching. "Nah, man, you two enjoy your time together. I’ve got some stuff to take care of back at my place, but maybe next time."
Hyunjin gives me a nod, still grinning like an idiot. "Alright, bro. Thanks for coming by today. And thanks for listening to me ramble about Nami."
I laugh, clapping him on the shoulder. “Anytime, man. It’s good to see you this happy. Don’t lose that.”
As I head out of his office, I can’t help but think about how far we’ve all come. From that wild kidnapping mess to now, where Hyunjin’s head over heels for Nami and we’re all just... living. It’s funny how life works out sometimes. But you know what? I wouldn’t change a thing. Hyunjin’s got Nami, I’ve got Lisa, and everything feels like it’s finally falling into place.
And I’m totally here for it.
I felt like Bangchan was kinda left out so i was like,i need to make a chapter with his point of view too...
