It was times like these where I could just be myself. I had no worries as of this point. Finals were over and done with and it was the beginning of my adventurous summer.
"Hey! ANNA! Look at that...," I turn just in time to see a group of guys around our age, wearing nothing but swim shorts. Unlike the other guys around my school, they didn't have a overly harry chest and a huge belly. They had a nice summer tan along with a six pack. In some cases an eight pack.
Sigh, You gotta love summer, I thought.
"You can look but you cant touch...," my friend, Amy, sang.
"Why? Give me one good reason why I shouldn't do that?"
"Because you have Lucas, duh."
Sometimes I wish she would just leave it alone. Lucas has been my best friend since we were toddlers. He has always been there for me. Acting the part of the big brother that i never had. But as we grew up people began to dislike our closeness. I must admit, Lucas was a stud. Many girls at school would never stop talking about him. And seemed to be encourage to talk about him even more when I'm around.
And as of last Monday Amy has had this stupid theory that Lucas was going to ask me out on a date. I had to set things straight once and for all.
"Amy, how many times---," I never got to finish my statement as a football spiraled itself towards me making a bulls eye right in between my eyes.
"Anna, Anna, are you alright?" Amy desperately said while clutching my forearm, turning me towards her.
" Yeah, I think so," I mumbled, " that football hit me pretty hard huh?" I said with closed eyes. The sun was pretty good at making my eyes water even when their closed...
"Um. Anna, it was an orange that hit you. Not a football. Are you sure your okay?" Amy said with more concern for my sanity than anything else.
"Of course, just help me up would you,"
Standing up had seemed like a good idea at the time but not anymore.
Wolf whistles were heard from miles away aiming intentionally towards me.
" DAMN. I'D DO HER ANYTIME!" The shorter one said to his blonde friend.
"Same Here! Never have I seen an ass like dat before! Muah!" replied the blondie.
"HEY! SEXY! GIVE US A LITTLE SHOW!" replied another guy from the group, speaking up on others behalfs.
"Freak off Mates!" Amy half spat, half yelled through her ferry!
"Oooo, wait till I tell Lucas. He would have taught them some manners..., " Amy went on.
I wasn't listening, I blocked all the things that Amy was blabbering on about. Instead I started packing my bags back, planning on heading over to go wait for Amy in her car.
Seeing me walking towards her car, she quickly caught on. I must admit she was pretty good at multitasking. I remember at one of her eight grade parties, Lucas and Me dared her to tie her right hand to her left foot while picking up jacks of the floor and jumping rope all at the same time. Even that, she made it seem pretty easy to do. After that dare we slowly began to stop underestimating her.
"Anna, where to now?" Amy was now in the drives seat already turning into the freeway. I guess I was to distracted with old memories to even notice when we are in a moving vehicle.
