On the first day back from a relaxing vacation, I found myself dreading the return to school. Despite my reluctance, I knew I had to go back if I wanted to achieve success. As I waited for my school bus, I received a message from my best friend. It's a commonly held belief that we have romantic feelings for each other, but the truth is quite different. We share a unique bond, akin to that of siblings.

As the bus approached, I braced myself for the impending chaos, but I also held onto a glimmer of hope that maybe it wouldn't be as terrible as I had anticipated.

I step onto the bus and immediately spot my friend Ellie-anna sitting near the back. With a smile, I make my way over and take the seat beside her. It's always nice to have some company during the bus ride.

- "Are you ready for the trauma to repeat again?" Ellie-anna

- "Don't reminde me about it!"

As we looked at each other, our eyes sparkling with mischief, we couldn't help but burst out in contagious laughter. It's moments like these that remind me how much fun we always have together.

I've known Ellie since elementary school, back in 6th grade when I moved here mid-semester. She has always been a pleasure to be around. Ellie is kind, humorous, and someone you just enjoy spending time with.

As the bus came to a stop in front of the school, I took a deep breath and hesitantly stepped out. My heart raced with nervousness, and I already longed to be back home.

- "I wanna go home!" Ellie and I both chimed in simultaneously and burst into laughter.

-  "What do you have right now?" Ellie asked me

-  "I have gym!" I'm really sporty and active, while Ellie is more of a calm and laid-back person.

- "Good luck!" Ellie said, giving me a thumbs up.

- "Thank you!" I chuckled as I playfully said to Ellie.

I went to the changing room to change and I was the first one there! So I changed since I didn't wanted to be late the first day of school!

I stepped out of the changing room, feeling unsure as I made my way into the gym. The sound of the bell reverberated through the air, signaling the start of a new school year. As I looked around, I recognized the familiar faces of my classmates. It seemed like it was going to be another monotonous year. However, amidst the sea of familiar faces, I caught sight of someone I didn't recognize. "Is he new here?" I wondered to myself

As we waited for the other students to arrive, I found myself strolling along the basketball court's boundary line, and he was standing beside me. Lost in my own thoughts, I turned to the side and caught him gazing at me. I quickly averted my eyes. Surely, it was just a coincidence, right? Out of curiosity, I stole another glance at him. As I turned around, our eyes met. In that moment, I experienced an unfamiliar sensation, something entirely new to me. There was a peculiar fluttering in my stomach, and I instinctively turned away. Though my heart wasn't racing, it certainly wasn't beating slowly either!

As everyone filed into the classroom, the teacher gestured for us to take our seats in front of the whiteboard. Finding a spot at the end, I couldn't help but notice the new student settling in not too far ahead of me. I didn't dwell on it and focused on the teacher's opening remarks. However, I couldn't shake the feeling that the new guy was inching his way closer to me with each passing minute. Was it just my imagination, or was he really encroaching on my personal space?

The teacher was assigning us our seats in the classroom. As he called out our names one by one, I heard my name being called. I got up and made my way to my assigned seat, feeling the weight of the new guy's gaze on me as I walked. Soon after, I heard another name being called - his name. It was then that I realized his name was Kenvin, Kevin Tremblay.

Lost in my thoughts, I was startled back to reality by the teacher's booming voice as she announced the day's activities, Everyone got up and I deciding to break the ice, I resolved to strike up a conversation with him.

- "Hey, are you new to this school?" I said with a cheerful tone in my voice.

- "yeah." Kevin glanced around the room.

- "Do you wanna work in a team?" I asked him.

- "Do we have to work in teams? He said avoiding my gaze.

- "Well, I think we later will but I don't know" He just nodded and looked around the room again avoiding my gaze.

- "Do you have friends?"

Way to go Ever, why did you ask this?! I thought to myself.

- "Yeah, I have friends." He suddenly looked at me and our eyes met again.

- "Oh, ok," I said and I walked away from him!

As I approached the wall to start my exercises, I couldn't help but wonder why I had to ask that particular question instead of something else. Just as I was getting ready, Kevin joined me, standing on one side. Shortly after, another guy arrived and positioned himself between us. Despite his presence, I remained focused on the upcoming exercises and paid little attention to his arrival.
