"MELLONY! GET UPPPPP!" My brother Kian ran into my room to wake me up.
Now I know what you're thinking. 'Ohmygosh Kian Lawley is your twin brother?! You're so lucky!!!' Yeah..Well I guess. All my friends are obsessed with him, just because he has a YouTube channel.
"I'M UPPPPP!" I yelled back.
""GOOD. Now, get dressed. It's the last day of summer, and we have a busy day planned." he said pulling open my closet. He took out a pair of floral high-waisted shorts and a pink chiffon blouse then he tossed them to me. "But that on, along with your bathing suit." I just nodded my head and pushed him out the door.
I laughed as I thought about how regularly Kian helps me pick out my outfits. Yes, he's a guy, but he knows what I like to wear!
I rooted through my drawers looking for my bikini, and when I found it, I slipped it on, and put the outfit Kian chose over top. I then put my hair in loose curls, and put on a bit of makeup. I dug a beach bag out of my closet and threw in sunscreen, tanning oil, a hair elastic and headband, an old blanket, my wallet, and some towels. Before going downstairs, I looked at myself in the mirror. I didn't look that bad, actually. Kian did a good job.
"Ready?" Kian was sitting at the bottom of the stairs on his phone, waiting for me. He was wearing a cool orange, yellow and red tanktop, along with black shorts. He had his dark hair styled and he had a pair of black sunglasses on. Even though he was my twin, we looked almost nothing alike. One obvious difference is our hair. His is a dark brown, while mine is blonde. He is about 6 foot, while I'm 5'5". Oh well. We have the same brown eyes, and people say we have the same smile, but I don't see it.
"Yeah, I'm ready. What about breakfast?" I was starving already. I think it's about noon or so...
"We're meeting Sam at Starbucks. Okay? I'd hate to see you go without food." He laughed at his little joke. I just really like food, okay?!
When we were at Starbucks, we ordered, then waited for Sam. When he finally arrived, we waited for him to order, then walked to the nearest park to eat. That's what we always do.
"Why were you so late, Sam?" Kian asked.
"I was out all night with a bunch of hot girls. They didn't want to leave me alone!" he answered.
"Okay. So what REALLY happened?" Kian asked again.
"I already told you! Do you think I was lying?!"
"Sammy...." I said
"Okay, fine. I overslept." Kian and I busted out laughing while Sam just pouted.
"Aww, I'm sorry." I reached over and gave him a hug, still trying to control my laughter.
"Whatever, Mel. What are we doing next?"Sam asked looking at Kian.
"Uh, we can go to the mall?"
"Sure!" Sam and I replied at the same time, causing me to giggle.
We were at the mall for about three hours, and I must've spent a hundred dollars. At least. Shopping is number two on my list of favorite things to do. Eating is number one, of course. We went back to our house to drop all our bags off.
"Can I leave mine here too?" Sam had about six bags in his hands.
"Yeah, sure. You'll probably be staying here tonight anyway." Kian replied.
Sam dropped his bags, and we headed for the beach.
I spread out my blanket over the sand, then took off my shorts and shirt, leaving me in my bathing suit. The boys were already in the water, basically drowning each other. I decided I was going to tan, so I lied down on my stomach and put on some music.
