"It all started with a bet."
I would say that, but it didn't all start with a bet. It started way before that.
Jayda Sinclair is very popular in her school for her kind personality, good looks, and good grades. You'd think that her life was perfect...
A few days had passed since she asked me to hang out, and I was still as excited as before, even if I didn't show it.
When we saw each other in the halls, we'd smile or wave at each other. It felt like we had gone back in time, and nothing had ever happened between us. It was like a fresh start.
We had also been paired together for a class project, along with her best friend Paris and Paris' boyfriend Dae.
Things were looking up.
"I'm telling you, she fell flat on her face!" She said through bursts of laughter. God, I missed that laugh. I laughed along with her, amused at the story.
Paris, who was sitting opposite us with Dae, rolled her eyes. She was the one who fell flat on her face. She wasn't amused at first, but she gave up resisting and laughed along with the rest of us.
Soon enough, Saturday arrived.
I was nervous. It had been a while since we had gone out together, and I wasn't sure how to act or what to wear. After struggling for a while, I picked an outfit good enough.

I got to the amusement park 10 minutes early. It didn't seem too busy, thankfully. I looked at what rides and stalls there were when I felt I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Hey," She said with a sweet smile. She looked breathtaking.

"H-hey.. uh, you're here!" I rarely stuttered, but just looking at how gorgeous she looked made my mind blank.
~Jayda~
He looked good. His shirt exposed his sculpted arms, only adding to his handsome-ness. I noticed that he wasn't saying anything and looked up to face him. He was looking at me.
"So, should we go in now?" I chuckled. He finally snapped out of his daze.
"Oh, yeah - sure." He tried to act cool about it, but I could see the red on his cheeks.
We strolled through the amusement park, looking at all of the different rides and attractions. "That one." He said, pointing towards a rollercoaster. I looked at it, and my eyes grew wide. "That one? Are you sure?" I asked nervously. I admit, I was terrified. He grabbed my hand and led me over to it. The butterflies in my stomach wouldn't stop fluttering as the warmth of his hand spread to mine, and my cheeks grew hot.
When we finally got there, I wasn't thinking about the ride anymore. I was thinking about how he was holding my hand. He finally seemed to realise and let go, clearing his throat. I have to admit, I was disappointed that he had let go, but I didn't say anything about it, and neither did he. We sat next to each other, and I looked up at all of the twists and turns, trembling.
He seemed to have noticed and said, "Hey, don't worry. You'll be fine - just focus on me." And with that, he held my hand. My cheeks grew hot again at the intimate contact. All that I could focus on was the feel of his hand on mine. How warm and comforting it felt. I couldn't help but relax a bit. I didn't even notice that the ride had started to move, and we were going up. But, I didn't feel as scared anymore.
When the rollercoaster hit its peak, I grabbed onto his hand tighter as it raced down the tracks, looping and twisting and turning. I screamed loudly, holding his hand tighter than ever. He held my hand tighter as well, laughing and screaming as the ride went on.
When we finally got off, we were still holding hands. I felt safe in his grasp. I gasped for air whilst chuckling.
"Well? Did you like it?" He asked, shooting me one of his signature smiles. All I could do was smile and nod. I really did enjoy it. "Thank you." I said, looking up at him.
He smiled in response, but this time, it was much wider and brighter than before.
Next, it was my turn to choose. I looked around, and one caught my eye. "That one." I said, pointing to the right. "The ferris wheel." He looked in the direction I was pointing in and nodded. We walked over to it, still hand in hand.
