Rimuru pov

As I floated through the spiritual world, now safely tucked into my Imaginary Space, I couldn’t help but reflect on how absurd the debates I used to have on VsBattle were. Back when I was just Satoru Mikami, I would spend hours arguing about dimensionality, trying to prove which character could beat whom, but now that I had the actual power to experiment with these concepts… it just seemed so stupid.

I chuckled to myself, “How is there even a difference between infinite 3D and 4D? I mean, infinite size means it can’t be measured by dimensionality. It doesn’t matter if you call it 3D or 4D—it's already beyond any meaningful measurement!”

Ciel chimed in cheekily, <Master, are you still thinking about those pointless debates?> She gave a playful giggle, <I must say, arguing over the distinctions between infinite 3D and 4D is rather… simplistic.>

I could feel her teasing me. “Yeah, I know. Looking back, it’s so stupid. Back then, I’d get all riled up debating this kind of stuff. Now I see how ridiculous it all is.”

Ciel's voice took on a more instructive tone, <Indeed. Consider this: Imaginary Space itself is metaphysical in nature and transcends dimensional limitations. It can contain anything, including whole universes, without messing with the laws governing those worlds. That’s far beyond the mundane concerns of 3D and 4D structures.>

I smirked. “Yeah, not like that overrated VsBattle stuff where they talk about 'infinite universes' as if they’re defining cosmic laws.”

<Exactly,> Ciel said, <And don’t forget the clowns who claim infinite 3D spaces are below 4D because of some arbitrary rules. Your old friends from that site would probably have a meltdown trying to comprehend how Imaginary Space actually works.>

I sighed, remembering the kind of convoluted arguments people would make. “Yeah, they’d definitely lose it. I used to love those DnD debates too, but now it all just feels so shallow. The whole ‘infinite 4D structure’ argument is one of the dumbest things I’ve heard. How can they even think a 4D space could contain an infinite number of timelines when timelines are 4D in themselves?”

Ciel was relentless in her teasing. <And yet you debated this, Master. Don’t forget, infinite timelines themselves are composed of 4D constructs—3 spatial dimensions and 1 time axis. So, logically, a 4D space can’t contain an infinite number of 4D timelines. You’d need a construct far beyond that. Imaginary Space, for instance, operates at a far more complex level.>

I could almost feel her smirk. “Right, right. VsBattle is just full of stupidity. I can’t believe I wasted so much time on it.”

Milim, who had been listening to our conversation with a bored expression, finally chimed in. “Hey, Rimuru! What would happen if Chloe used her Imaginary Space here, huh?”

I blinked, surprised by the sudden question. “Chloe’s Imaginary Space?”

Ciel cut in smoothly, <Chloe’s Imaginary Space is fundamentally the same as yours in nature, but her limitations come from her manas—Chronoa. She has more control over time, while your skill, Azathoth, grants you a greater understanding of knowledge and manipulation of all things. She simply lacks the depth of control you possess. It's not her imaginary space is inferior but more like her imaginary space didn't have correct Manas for it to control.>

I grinned at the thought. “So, in other words, I’ve got more versatility, while Chloe’s limited by her manas aspect. Makes sense.”

Veldora, ever the braggart, was off somewhere loudly explaining anime plotlines to Milim, who clearly wasn’t paying attention. Meanwhile, I had fun imagining what would happen if Chloe did try to use her Imaginary Space here. It’d probably work, but nowhere near as efficiently as mine.

“Hey, Ciel, what about other versions of me in the Cardinal World? Do any of them have Imaginary Space like mine?”

<Not all of them,> Ciel explained, <Only those who evolved into True Dragons managed to attain something similar to your Imaginary Space. Most Rimurus in the Cardinal World didn’t get the chance to evolve because Chloe is stuck in a loop, helping each Rimuru avoid death. The evolution process takes time, and without analyzing Veldora’s Infinite Prison, they can’t unlock the potential for Imaginary Space.>

I nodded. “So, they’re stuck without the evolution or haven’t progressed far enough yet.”

<Correct. Out of the countless timelines in the Cardinal World, only around 10 million versions of you managed to gain Imaginary Space. And most of those versions didn’t have access to Void God Azathoth like you do. Many just have subspaces similar to your Predator ability’s 'Stomach,' but nothing as complex as Imaginary Space.>

“Interesting,” I muttered, musing on the idea that there were still so many versions of me out there who didn’t evolve.

Ciel continued, <Veldanava, on the other hand, has something similar to Imaginary Space across all timelines. But Chloe never gave any other Rimuru enough information to fully analyze Imaginary Space, so Raphael—now me—couldn’t evolve it for them.>

So, my Imaginary Space contained countless other versions of myself each with their own limitations or differences. And I had the ability to pull them in without causing any paradoxes since they all existed within the same metaphysical space now.

I laughed. “So basically, I’m hoarding a bunch of alternate me’s in here. That’s kind of hilarious.”

Ciel teased again, <Master, you could say you're a collector of Rimurus. Shall I create a trophy room for your alternate selves?>

“Oh, come on, that’s just cruel,” I said, trying not to laugh. But honestly, the thought of having control over so many different versions of myself was intriguing. I could summon them, bring Veldanava from any timeline, or even alter events without worrying about paradoxes. All thanks to Imaginary Space.

As I drifted back into my thoughts, Ciel delivered the final blow in her teasing.

<And just so you don’t forget, Master, this whole 'infinite 4D space' debate was always a waste of time. Infinite size renders dimensionality irrelevant. Don't ever think someone like 'Life Rider' or pedophile like him would’ve figured that out by now. After all, 4D space can’t possibly contain an infinite number of timelines because each timeline is already 4D in nature. Arguing about stacking dimensions is pointless when you're dealing with infinity.>

I groaned, shaking my head. “Yeah, yeah, I get it. VsBattle was full of clowns, and I was used to be one of them. Thanks for the reminder.”

Ciel, of course, couldn’t resist having the last word. <Anytime, Master.>
