Raj Khanna gripped his worn, dog-eared copy of "Pride and Prejudice" as he stepped onto the bustling campus of Holkar Science College. The towering gates, adorned with intricate carvings, seemed to loom over him, filling his stomach with a familiar flutter of nerves.

"This is it," he whispered to himself, exhaling a shaky breath. After months of anticipation, the day had finally arrived - his first day as a college freshman. Raj tightened his hold on the beloved novel, the familiar weight and texture a comforting anchor amidst the sea of unfamiliar faces surrounding him.

As he navigated the crowded pathways, students and their families bustled about, lugging suitcases and exchanging excited chatter. Raj couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy at their effortless camaraderie, wishing he possessed the same outgoing confidence. Instead, he kept his head down, silently observing the vibrant energy that pulsed through the campus.

Suddenly, a booming voice broke through the din, drawing Raj's attention toward a small gathering near the dormitories.
"Roommate alert! Who's ready to room with the one and only Balkrishna?"

Raj blinked in surprise as a tall, charismatic-looking young man emerged from the crowd, his infectious grin and animated gestures commanding everyone's attention. Steeling himself, Raj approached the group, clutching his book tightly.

"Uh, hi," he said tentatively, catching the eye of the boisterous student. "I'm Raj Khanna. I think we're supposed to be roommates?"

The young man's face lit up, and he immediately pulled Raj into an enthusiastic handshake. "Balkrishna, at your service! Looks like we're going to be the best of friends, my friend. Welcome to Holkar Science College - the start of the greatest adventure of your life!"

Raj offered a small, hesitant smile, already feeling slightly overwhelmed by Balkrishna's boundless energy. "It's nice to meet you. I, um, I'm really looking forward to college
Balkrishna chuckled, draping an arm around Raj's shoulders. "I can tell you're a bit shy, but no worries, my man. I'll make sure you come out of your shell in no time. Now, let's get you settled in and introduce you to the rest of the crew!"

As Balkrishna led him toward the dormitory, Raj glanced over his shoulder, taking in the bustling campus once more. Despite his nerves, he couldn't help but feel a spark of excitement at the prospect of this new chapter in his life. With a deep breath, he followed his boisterous roommate, determined to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead.

The dormitory room was a cozy, well-lit space, with two beds, desks, and dressers. Raj carefully placed his suitcase on the bare mattress, running his fingers over the crisp, white sheets. He couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and anticipation as he began to unpack his belongings, arranging them with meticulous care.

Balkrishna, on the other hand, seemed to move with the energy of a tornado, tossing his clothes haphazardly into drawers and hanging up colorful posters on the walls. Raj watched him in a mix of awe and bewilderment, wondering how someone could possess so much boundless enthusiasm.

"So, Raj, tell me a little about yourself," Balkrishna said, pausing in his frenzied unpacking to turn his attention to his new roommate. "What are your hobbies? Your interests? What makes Raj Khanna tick?"

Raj felt his cheeks flush as he clutched his book tighter. "Oh, um, well, I really enjoy reading," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I especially love romance novels. They just... they transport me to these amazing, fantastical worlds, you know?"

Balkrishna's eyes widened with genuine interest. "Romance novels, huh? That's awesome, man! I can totally get behind that. Maybe you can share some of your favorites with me, and we can talk about them over chai in the evenings."

Raj blinked in surprise, not expecting such an enthusiastic reaction. "I- I'd like that," he admitted, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

Before their conversation could continue, a sudden commotion outside the room caught their attention. Raj peered out the open doorway to see a group of students gathered in the hallway, their voices rising with excitement.

"Did you hear about the induction ceremony?" one student exclaimed. "The seniors are planning something really wild this year!"

Raj felt his heart rate quicken at the mention of the induction ceremony. He had heard whispers about the event, a long-standing tradition at Holkar Science College where the incoming freshmen were put through a series of challenging dares and trials. The very thought of it made his palms grow sweaty with anxiety.
Balkrishna, on the other hand, seemed to perk up at the news. "An induction ceremony, huh? Now, that sounds like my kind of fun!" He turned to Raj, his eyes dancing with mischief. "We're definitely going to have to check that out, my friend."

Raj swallowed hard, his grip on the book tightening. "I, um, I'm not sure about that," he admitted, his voice tinged with trepidation. "I'm not really the daring type, you know?"

Balkrishna laughed, clapping Raj on the back with enough force to make him stagger. "Oh, come on, Raj! Where's your sense of adventure? This is college - the perfect time to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. Trust me, it'll be a blast!"

Raj opened his mouth to protest, but the determined gleam in Balkrishna's eyes gave him the distinct impression that his roommate would not be taking no for an answer. With a resigned sigh, he nodded reluctantly, already dreading the challenges that lay ahead.

As the commotion in the hallway continued, Raj couldn't help but glance down at the well-worn pages of his book, seeking solace in the familiar characters and their timeless love stories. Perhaps, he mused, the induction ceremony would present an opportunity for him to find his own happily-ever-after.

With a nervous swallow, Raj placed the book on his desk, steeling himself for the adventures that were sure to come. After all, this was his chance to embrace a new beginning, even if it meant stepping outside his comfort zone. As Balkrishna continued to chatter excitedly, Raj took a deep breath and prepared to face the unknown.
