Bi Lan returned outside the post station but could not find Yan Zhao. She took out a compass to take a divination, but the compass wobbled and did not indicate any direction.
What was going on?
She immediately grabbed a passing post station clerk and asked, "Do you know where that young lady who was here earlier went?"
The clerk looked troubled and replied, "I don't know."
They were all busy with their own matters, and with so many people coming and going on the street, it was hard to notice who stood at the entrance for how long.
Realizing she had frightened the clerk with her urgency, Bi Lan reluctantly let go. The clerk turned and walked away.
Bi Lan stood in front of the post station, looking at the busy streets, her shoulders sagging in helplessness.
Bai Jin and the young swordsman stared at each other, their eyes locked in a silent showdown.
After a moment, the swordsman, unable to hold back, finally smiled and said, "I am Jue Ya, a disciple of the Wusheng Sword Sect. May I ask for your name, Miss?"
Bai Jin pursed his lips and said, "I don't want to tell you."
Jue Ya did not get angry but smiled casually, "Alright then. Since it was a misunderstanding, let's part ways here."
The young swordsman turned and left with a somewhat graceful demeanor.
Bai Jin turned and headed in another direction. He had originally intended to look for Yan Zhao, but after missing her earlier, her aura had disappeared, and he couldn't find any trace of her. He had no choice but to give up.
"How boring," Bai Jin complained.
He wondered when the Medicine God Sect's medicine manual would start. If days in the Tai Yan Immortal Domain continued like this, he'd go stir-crazy.
Bai Jin wandered around aimlessly and, on leaving the Immortal Market, passed by a carriage.
The carriage's curtain was lifted, revealing Dao Ling Xianzun and Ling Jiancheng inside. Ling Jiancheng was severely injured, unable to move, and mostly in a daze, sleeping with his head down. Occasionally, he would wake up and ask hoarsely, "Xianzun, where are we?"
Dao Ling Xianzun withdrew his gaze from the distance and replied, "We have entered the Tai Yan Immortal Domain. We will stay in the Immortal Market tonight and I will come to visit with a greeting card tomorrow."
Ling Jiancheng closed his eyes again after hearing this.
Shortly after leaving the Immortal Market, Bai Jin passed by a small peach orchard. The peach trees here were not as impressive as those in Qingqiu, but feeling nostalgic in a foreign land, he couldn't help but pause and stay for a while.
Bai Jin lay down on a branch of one of the peach trees and closed his eyes for a nap.
Suddenly, a sharp wind blew through the orchard.
The wind carried a murderous aura.
Bai Jin's eyes snapped open.
Tu Shan Yu spent the day at the Medicine God Sect, playing chess and drinking tea with Elder Wu. As the sun began to set, she waited anxiously but still had not seen Bai Jin return.
"This wild girl loves to run around," Tu Shan Yu sighed.
The little fox from Qingqiu couldn't be constrained by rules. Bai Jin had clearly ignored his advice and left the Medicine God Sect to go play elsewhere.
