Final Update (We've done it!!)

Hey everyone! Some of you are gonna kill me if I got your hopes up with the upload lol

I've got a hell of a present for my birthday today. We've got full custody of my baby sister!!!

We only needed to wait for the final hearing for just over a month after submitting the application for custody. Only down side was I had to see my "Parents" after Six Years in court since they tried everything to get her back.

Thankfully Tusla, (Ireland's CPS) had overwhelming evidence to back me up and to prove our "Parents" are not fit for custody. But talking about my relationship with them to the judge was the final nail in the coffin. It was pretty easy tbh, they already lost custody of me when I was 13 lmao.

Maybe I'm petty, but I enjoyed every second of them seething when they realised that I was the one that applied for custody. It was straight up carthatic.

Now, for Eyes of Divinity. It should be out sometime during next week. I've been gradually working on it while sorting all the custody stuff out.

I plan to update chapters 11-41 of EOD before writing the next chapter of Eyes of Divinity. I think I mentioned that I wanted to write chapter 3 for Rise of Sukuna, but I'd like to finish the first crossover arc first if that's fine with everyone.

Quick update on the family situation. The biggest reason for the lengthy time away was that I suddenly had emergency custody/Temporary Guardianship of my baby sister; my focus has really been on getting her comfortable with living with me, my wife, and my Father-in-law while also compiling a bunch of documents/evidence on my "Parents" since I need to go court to gain full custody of the little duckling.

The sad thing is they lost custody of me when I was 13, which is thankfully working in our favour for a start. My FIL's lawyer has told us we're all but guaranteed based on their history alone. But with the additional backing of CPS, I'm confident we'll gain full custody. Sadly, it's just a lengthy process.

It's been a lot for me to take in in such a short time. I didn't know she existed until all this came to light because I cut contact with my "Parents" the day I turned 18, nearly six years ago. My sister was born a year or two after I had cut contact.

But it's been much tougher for my duckling. She was scared when she met us, and it hurt to see how terrified she was just from accidentally breaking a cup. Slowly but surely, she's becoming more energetic and having more fun in general (and chasing around our dog, lmao).

So yeah, I'll update chapters 11-41 in the coming week, then write the next chapter of Eyes of Divinity and then completely focus on Rise of Sukuna until the end of season 1 of MHA.

I'm in the process of sorting custody for my younger sister. I won't get too much into detail, but our "parents" have lost custody of her.

She's doing okay. We're just focused on getting her settled in with us while we balance the pregnancy. We're trying to let her take her time to get comfortable with living with us from now on. It's been tough on her since she's only four and since she's moving in with a house full of strangers. My sister and I didn't know each other existed until recently since I cut contact with my "parents" when I turned 18 (so nearly six years).

She's such an adorable angel. I can't believe she was treated poorly. Every time she walks around, her feet sound like a little duckling walking around; it's so cute. Thankfully, it looks like we'll get full custody of her. Right now, we have temporary guardianship, but we'll have to wait for a court hearing, which will be soon (4 weeks or so).

CPS came over for an inspection and seemed convinced we would be an excellent place for her to live. The CPS Officer was gushing over the Duck & Ducklings my wife has. Sister is starting to warm up to us. We played all of last night with the new toys we bought her! "Parents" will likely never see her again, which is for the best.

I've had to explain in kid-friendly terms that she'll be living with us and explain I'm her older brother. One day, I may adopt her, but I don't want to pressure or overwhelm her. She's been such a brave girl for the last couple of weeks.

Usually I wouldn't give such a personal life update on here, well at least something heartbreaking like this, but I wanted you to understand where my priority is at the moment. I'm unsure when I'll continue. But I'll get around to it when I feel time is appropriate. I'll update you guys when I begin writing again.
