Becca had been Annie's closest friend for as long as she could remember. When Annie woke up with no memory of the past four years, she felt lost and confused. But she found solace in Becca's comforting presence and unwavering support. As Annie struggled to piece together her lost memories, she turned to Becca for answers.
However, her hopes were shattered when Becca revealed that three years ago, on the night of November 9th, Annie had disappeared, leaving behind a farewell letter. In the letter, Annie hinted at uncovering the truth and mentioned her plans to travel to France in search of someone and their secrets. This revelation sparked a new direction for Annie's quest to unravel the mysteries of her missing years.
It appeared that she had been in France for the past three years, a revelation that left her with more questions than answers. Determined to uncover the truth, Annie made up her mind to return to France in the hope of finding the missing pieces of her memory. With Becca by her side, Annie embarked on a journey filled with uncertainty and anticipation.
During the long flight to France, her mind was consumed with thoughts of encountering the enigmatic figure from her dreams and reuniting with her father. As they finally arrived in France, Annie was overwhelmed by a flood of fragmented memories, each one offering a glimpse into her past.
Despite her inner turmoil, Annie chose to keep her newfound revelations to herself and took Becca to a comfortable place to stay. As Becca rested, Annie ventured out alone, eager to recapture more of her elusive memories. It was during this solitary stroll that she stumbled upon an old-fashioned mall, which triggered a hazy recollection from her past.
Lost in her thoughts and absorbed in the memories that flooded her mind, Annie collided with a stranger. As she looked up, her heart skipped a beat. The stranger before her bore a striking resemblance to the man from her dreams, down to the distinctive umbrella he carried. However, any possibility of recognition was shattered when he scolded her and hastily disappeared into the crowd, leaving Annie bewildered and doubting her perceptions.
Just when she felt the encounter slip away as a mere coincidence, something caught her eye. It was a locket, dropped in the commotion. As she opened it, she was met with a jolt of recognition - there, in the locket, was a picture of herself standing beside the same enigmatic man from her dreams. The pieces of the puzzle were slowly coming together, and Annie was left grappling with the unsettling realization that her past was far more complex and intertwined with this stranger than she could have ever imagined.
When Annie returned, Becca was still asleep. Annie drifted into the world of thoughts; who was that man? Was he the one from her dream? Why was there a picture of her standing with him? She was startled when Becca touched her shoulder.
"You look deep in thought, what are you thinking about?" Becca asked in a concerned voice.
"No, it's just that I am not able to recall anything. Is it a waste that I came all the way here?" she lied.
"Hey, it's fine, we'll find it out together," Becca said and went to get some water. "By the way, since we are new to this place, why don't we go and meet our neighbours and say hi to them."
"Hmm... That's a nice idea; how about we give them the cookies I made?" she replied.
That evening, Annie went all alone to give a visit to all the neighbours in her apartment. She rang the doorbell, and a few moments later, the door was opened. She was shocked to see the same guy from the mall. Panic set in, but the guy didn't recognize her. She introduced herself: "Hi, I am Annie. I live next door."
"Oh, hi Annie, I am Arman; I hope you like this neighbourhood, and feel free to ask for any help."
"Umm... Well, thanks, and please take these cookies. I baked them for you."
"That's so sweet of you, thanks."
After fifteen minutes of such awkward talking, Annie came back to her room. She locked herself. Her heart was beating faster than ever, but why? Was he that guy from her dream? Finally, the sunset and the moon rose. After a long time of overthinking, Annie finally fell asleep. Only to return to the world of nightmares.
