"you still suck at cooking"
jihye rolled her eyes as joshua stared at the veggies she had chopped judgmentally. and suddenly an idea popped up in her mind.
"teach me then" she smiled flirtatiously but joshua's attention was still on the tomatoes she had butchered.
"i have taught you a lot of times already."
she felt disappointed as joshua answered seriously instead of what she had in mind. she was expecting him to respond with a romantic gesture but he was focused on cooking as he hummed a pleasant melody, handling all the work alone as he knew asking jihye for help in the kitchen was just inviting trouble.
in her two times at his place, she had almost set his new apartment on fire once. she pouted behind him and joshua continued his work, oblivious to her expectations.
when she didn't say anything for a few minutes, joshua looked back and he couldn't help but chuckle at her sulky face as she stood with her arms folded in front of her chest. he left the dish he was cooking behind and walked up to her, tilting his head to look into her downturned eyes with a sweet smile.
"you don't even want to look at me?"
"no." she turned away from him with the same grumpy look. joshua laughed softly as he took hold of her hands and unfolded them gently. in his eyes her tantrums were adorable.
"then i will make sure you can't see me."
jihye was flustered and for a moment she was scared that he was offended and would actually leave but instead joshua pulled her closer and kissed her.
she didn't realize when her eyes closed themselves as she kissed back with no control over herself. it was difficult to resist a kiss even if she was mad at him.
and as joshua worked his magic, any thought of anger slipped from her mind.
feeling her engrossed in the sensation of his touch, joshua knew the argument was already over. so with a victorious smile he withdrew his body from her. he could see that she was a little perplexed by the sudden kiss so he tried to distract her before she could figure out what just happened.
"do you know how to flip a kimchi jeon?"
she shook her head and he placed his hand on her lower back, giving a subtle push towards the counter on the other side.
"watch me."
he flipped the kimchi jeon with a flick of his wrist, achieving a succesful spin with ease. jihye watched him in awe, forever amazed at the endless amount of skills her boyfriend seemed to possess.
soon perfectly crispy and savory pancakes were ready for them to consume along with other simple dishes that jihye had 'tried' to help him make.
"you are so perfect" she pecked his cheek and joshua was about to return her compliment when the ring of his phone interrupted him.
he looked at his phone and sighed deeply. feeling curious because of his reaction she peeked into it and couldn't help but laugh when she realized it was jeonghan.
"darling why don't you set the table while i finish this up?"
"sure"
"don't break the plates."
"of course i won-"
she grinned sheepishly as joshua shook his head seeing her almost trip with the new set of crockery in her hands.
it was kind of exhausting to do everything alone every time they decided to make dinner 'together' but he knew she always tried to help him as much as she could and that was more than enough.
