You felt so tired you could pass by not having slept in a year. You had several wounds and they all hurt deeply.
You were back at the medical room.
You knew you'd be back, but not so soon.
But now things were worse.
At the other end were both Chris and Martin.
And Martin got the worst of it.
His wounds were tought to look at. Even though you were the most tired you've ever been, you couldn't sleep thinking about how much suffering he took for you. Feeling responsible for how much he endured trying to protect you.
Chris was sitting beside him, asleep, with his head resting on Martin's bed, beside his arm.
You just couldn't take it anymore, you had to do something.
You got up and sneaked away from the doctor's room.
You walked in front of Martin and your heart sank as you saw his right hand covered in bandages.
The Tortuga was parked on the city, and the doctors had had to stich a very deep wound on his hand.
Although the rest were superficial, they warned that the one on his hand could recover well, or could make him lose full mobility forever.
You felt it was all your fault. He was there saving you, again and again. He didn't once care about what would happen to him, he just wanted to keep you safe.
Not only you, but so many people and so many animals, without even expecting a thank you.
People need him, he's innocent, and yet he's going to lose his abilities forever.
No.
You were done watching from the sidelines.
You resolved within your heart to help him, and just as him, no matter the cost.
You kept walking away, until you reached the main room.
You very quietly walked slowly towards the main computer, Aviva's computer. You sat on the chair and looked up. It felt intimidating looking up and seeing screen up almost to the roof.
You looked down and saw the keyboard.
There were thousands of buttons.
You swallowed from fear.
However, you took a deep breath and focused.
There were a few buttons you knew from seein Aviva use the computer over and over again.
At your right, you saw the big 'enter' button. You pressed it and the screen light turned on.
Scared, you looked back to see if such a strong light woke up the crew.
It didn't.
You took a sigh of relief.
Then looked back at the screen and saw a big bar that asked for the password.
You've always been kind of paranoid and overly curious, so every time Aviva put in the password, you subtly watched it in case one day you'd need it.
And here you were.
You typed in the password with shaking hands, hoping you didn't remember anything wrong as it could activate all the alarms in the Tortuga.
You pressed enter and closed your eyes, expecting the alarm to go off.
After a few seconds of silence, you dared to open your eyes.
You gasped from excitement.
The screen was giving you a welcome and also showing you many options.
