After dinner, Taehyung offered to help with the dishes, but Ria declined with a smile. "I'll handle this. You and Jungkook should enjoy yourselves," she said, handing each of them a can of beer.
As Ria stood by the sink, tying her hair into a messy bun, the kitchen was filled with a tense, almost electric atmosphere. Taehyung and Jungkook, both transfixed, watched her with an intensity that spoke of their deeper feelings.
Taehyung's eyes, usually so warm and affectionate, were dark with an intense longing. Every movement she made was a siren call to his heart, each sway of her hair a reminder of the depth of his feelings. He sipped his beer slowly, trying to calm the storm of emotions raging inside him.
Jungkook, meanwhile, was barely managing to keep his composure. His gaze was fixed on Ria, but beneath his calm exterior, a storm of possessiveness brewed. His jaw was clenched, his knuckles white as he gripped his beer. Every slight movement she made, every touch of her hair, seemed to ignite a fire within him.
The hair tie slipped from her fingers as she bent down to retrieve a fallen dish, causing her bun to unravel. Taehyung, his movements quick and purposeful, was immediately at her side. His presence was commanding as he helped her, his fingers brushing lightly against her skin while he gathered her hair.
"You almost made my heart stop just by tying your hair," he whispered, voice rough with restrained desire. His lips hovered dangerously close to her ear, his eyes dark with emotion. "You have no idea what you do to me, Ria. You're incredible."
Ria chuckled softly, the lightness of her response masking the way his nearness made her pulse quicken. "Tae, you're being ridiculous."
Her words were casual, but the atmosphere was anything but. The way Taehyung's fingers moved so deliberately through her hair, how he made even something as simple as tying it up feel possessive, sent a shiver down her spine.
Across the room, Jungkook watched with clenched fists, the tension in his body palpable. Each brush of Taehyung's fingers against Ria's skin felt like a taunt, igniting a dark, obsessive fury within him. He could feel his pulse quicken, his breath growing shallow. The sight of Taehyung's intimate touch, the way his hands moved so confidently through her hair, drove Jungkook's thoughts to darker places.
Once, Jungkook had tried to convince himself that letting Ria go was the right choice. He tried to tell himself that Taehyung was a better match, that his love for her was pure. But as he watched, he realized that he could no longer stand to see her with someone else. The thought of her heart fluttering for another man, of her laughter being shared with Taehyung, was unbearable.
Taehyung, oblivious to the dark storm brewing beside him, continued to brush his fingers against Ria's skin as he tied her hair back, a satisfied smile tugging at his lips. His actions were gentle, but the possessiveness in his gaze was unmistakable. He loved her fiercely, and in his mind, she was his and his alone.
But Jungkook knew better. He had felt it-the way Ria's pulse quickened when she was near him, the way her breath hitched when their eyes met. He had made her heart race, and that was all the confirmation he needed to unleash the side of him that had been quietly lurking in the shadows.
Taking a slow sip of his beer, Jungkook's mind calculated the ways he could claim her. His eyes never left her, even as he sat still, outwardly calm. But inside, there was a battle raging, one he was determined to win.
He could almost hear her soft gasps, imagine her under his touch, as his beast awoke fully. The thought of her skin against his, her lips trembling under his kiss, only fueled the hunger gnawing at him. He had been gentle with her once-considered stepping back and letting Taehyung have her. But not anymore.
