In the middle of nowhere, orbs of stars are floating in the air, two individuals facing each other. One is in shambles. His usual white hair is stained with blood. His left arm was missing; he was on his knees holding the body of a girl whose hair is white like his. No vital signs can be seen. One stood tall and looked down on him; her eyes greet him with an annoyed gaze.
"So you are here. I guess that means you lost."
"yeah. game over," he replied.
"What brings you here then?"
"I thought you already knew?" He laughed slightly.
"No, I will not lend you my authority." She seemed annoyed with the idea, "I only deemed you worthy enough to bring you here to share knowledge you wanted to know. Don't overstep your mortal limits."
"Then what if I have something to trade for it?" He asked confidently
"You are going to reset this broken world, aren't you?" She replied, sitting down on what seems like her throne with her hand on her chin.
Without hesitation, he nodded.
"To reset this world is a major thing to do—to discard every existence that has, is, and will exist. What do you offer to trade for it?" She said while staring at him.
"Me," he replied.
"Nice joke you have, my friend; this was the funniest one you have ever made," she giggled slightly. "Is what I would have said if you weren't serious about this?"
"I will pay the cost—my existence, my identity—and erase it as a cost. You once said I am the most interesting one you have ever met, right? then this is the best I can offer," he said.
"What pushes you this far really, was it the girl you held in your arms?" She replied, "Willing to discard your very identity like that."
"Yeah," he said, looking down at the corpse of the girl in his arms. Sadness was visible in his eyes. "I failed her; I failed everyone. Even in her death, she believed in me. if there's a chance to either do this again for a better ending or prevent this from ever happening. I am willing to do whatever it takes."
"If you do this, you will never exist; their memories of you will be gone; the girl you loved so much will never know who you are; every defining character of your very identity will be gone. Even if in the next world they are happy, you will never witness it. Do you still wish to do this?" she said
"You can read my mind, right? , you see any hesitation ?" He confidently replied, "I get to see her in this life; before that, I knew nothing aside from killing; she taught me how to make friends, how to live, and how to love; she was the brightest comet to have ever flown past the night sky, and if I can do something for that comet to shine again, even at the cost of everything I have. I would gladly do so, even if it means I will never get to see it."
"I thought you were worthy to grant you access here and share wisdom with you, but now, looking at you like this," she said.
"Positive, isn't it?" He laughed, "having to kneel down to you looking like a broken shell."
"No," she smiled slightly. "Looking at you like this, I know my judgment was right."
after her words. He begins to slowly fade away as he looks down on the girl's body in his arms."
"I guess this is game over for me, but at least you can shine again, and that's good enough for me. This is our goodbye, and thank you for everything. shine brighter than anything else in the sky, will you?" He smiled as he lifted his head to face the deity in front of his eyes. "I guess that means the deal is done. Thanks a lot, eggplant."
"Yeah, idiot," she smiled. "Farewell, 「 」"
