The starry sky stretched above Sumeru's quiet streets, where the whisper of green leaves harmonized with the desert breeze. From the balcony of an abandoned home, I surveyed the city below, its inhabitants lost in sleep.

"Do you think we should check on Rijal? See if he managed to reconcile with his parents." Guizhong's voice drifted beside me as she materialized silently.

"I believe he did," I murmured, pondering. "But intruding on such a personal moment might not be right."

"True," Guizhong conceded softly, her curiosity undimmed. "Still, I wonder how it all unfolded."

Turning to her, I broached a question that had long tugged at my thoughts. "What does 'family' mean to you?" Guizhong's response was a delicate dance of vulnerability and contemplation, her eyes momentarily shadowed with melancholy.

"What do you mean?" Her voice trembled slightly, her hands betraying a nervous energy beneath her attempt at a smile.

"I apologize," I said gently. "Perhaps it's too personal to ask."

After a brief pause, Guizhong spoke, her words laden with introspection. "Family, I think, is what you hold dear, what you cherish after sharing a journey with them." Her smile, tinged with sadness, hinted at the complexities she wrestled with. "It's a difficult question for me, too. after all, my former world is gone, and now the ones i once called family is now mere echos"

She turned the question back to me, meeting my gaze with a mixture of curiosity and uncertainty. I looked away, grappling with my own emotions, unable to articulate the tumult inside me.

"If I may," Guizhong continued softly, her voice a soothing presence in the night, "since you saved me from darkness, since the Lantern Rite Festival, we've traversed this world together. In the absence of my old family, you've become my family now. So, to answer your question, you are my family."

Her words lingered in the air, carrying a weight that resonated between us. As she looked up at the starlit sky, a small smile graced her lips.

"I suppose it's my turn to challenge you now," she chuckled, a warmth in her voice that hadn't been there before. "This side of you is unfamiliar yet intriguing."

"Well, I suppose you're family to me as well," I replied with a touch of deflection, trying to lighten the mood. "Let's find somewhere to rest for the night. Unless you'd prefer to stay in this random place?"

Perhaps it was my ego or my uncertainty about what family truly meant, but I found solace in the simplicity of her companionship.

As the sun graces the horizon, I depart from the modest motel room I rented for the night to meet Katherine. As expected, Rijal confirmed the completion of the commission. Katherine mentioned that Aether is presently in Fontaine. It's time to celebrate with him there and discuss sharing the Mora reward. I promptly arrange the passage across the sea from Sumeru to Fontaine before me and my companion embark on the journey to fontaine
