Derek POV

It was the day I had just turned 18. My life was perfect except for the fact I didn't have a girl friend and I was failing my art class. My friends Andy, Jeremy, and Alex were going to spend the night at my house tonight.

I got in my car and realized I was going to be late. Shit. I pulled up to Alex's house and he got into the passenger seat. Knowing this would piss Jeremy off since that was his "spot", Alex was smirking.

"You know he is going to kill you, right?" I asked Alex as we pulled out of his driveway. Alex lived with his grandparents since his mother was a drug addict and his father was never even married to his mother. His grandparents told him that his mother got hooked on drugs after he was born, and that his father left them because of it.

As we expected when we picked up Jeremy, he was fuming.

"Something bothering you Germy?" Alex asked trying to look innocent but completely failing. Germy was the nickname we had given Jeremy since he was always skipping school in his freshmen year due to being sick. He didn't mind the nickname back then, but now he loathed it.

We got to Andy's house and he had his arms spread out like 'why the hell are you late?' Andy got it the backseat next to ''Germy" and we took off to my house.

Andy broke the silence by saying,"Alex your in Jeremy's spot." We all groaned when Andy realized that because Jeremy started saying crap.

"Every time. Every time I tell you guys that that is my spot. How hard is it for you guys to get that?" Jeremy whined from the back seat. Alex bursts out laughing and soon we couldn't control ourselves. The laughter died down a few minutes later when we were passing by a field.

"Is that a girl in the field?" Andy asked staring out the window. "Pull over."

I pulled my car over to the side of the road and we all got out. We saw a girl clutching a note in her hand then scrawling something else on the piece of paper. Then when she seemed satisfied with what was written, she set the note down and picked up a gun nearby. Then as tears streamed down on her face, she raised the gun to her head.

"Stop!" We all said in unison. The girl dropped the gun and fell to her knees. She buried her face in her hands and began to sob. We went and sat down next to her. Jeremy grabbed the gun, and Andy grabbed the note.

Andy began to read the note aloud. "Whoever has found me, my name is Juliet Winters. Please tell my family that I loved them, and this wasn't because of them. I just couldn't take the pain and the sadness anymore. I couldn't take everybody putting me down and making me feel worthless. I wasn't as strong as I thought I was."

We stared at her for a good minute or so, but we couldn't see what she looked like since it was dark. "Hi I'm Derek and this is Andy, Jeremy, and Alex." I motioned towards them."Its ok your fine."

Suddenly she grabbed Andy's shirt collar and pulled him into a hug. He hugged her back, and let her cry on his shoulder for about 20 minutes.

"Do you need a place to stay Juliet?" I asked her. She looked up at me and replied," Yeah if it isn't any trouble."

She got in the back seat between Jeremy and Andy. She had fully stopped crying by the time we got to my house. My twin sister Ashley answered the door.

"Hey guys who's this?"she asked when she saw Juliet.

"A friend." I answered quickly. "Do you have some clothes she can use?"

"Yeah as a matter of fact I do. Come on." She took Juliet by the wrist and took her to her room. We heard the shower turn on and drawers being opened. "Ok guys. Which one of you likes her."

We were all baffled by her question that we just kept saying um and uh.
"Idiots." she said as she walked away.

A few minutes later me and my boys were dressed in our pajamas which was just basketball shorts. We heard the water turn off and about 10 minutes later Juliet came out wearing a pink long off the shoulder top, and her hair in a bun. God she was gorgeous.
