The walk to her house was filled with nothing but my racing thoughts and anticipation.

I had no clue why either.

I've been to her house before, why is it weird now?

"Are you okay?" Corey questioned, pulling me out of my over analytic thoughts.

I hesitatingly nodded, "Yeah," I replied blankly.

But I was officially out of my daze when I noticed her freeze in her tracks out the corner of my eye.

I turned around to face her, "It's okay if you don't want to do it, I could finish it by myself," she said, keeping her tone entirely serious.

"It's nothing, I'm okay, we could just finish it today," I reassured, I was just nervous for no reason.

"I promise I won't be mad if you don't want to do it." she said keeping her gaze upon me.

"We can do it Corey, it's fine." I replied, continuing my path down the sidewalk for about ten seconds.

Until I realized that I didn't know where I was going.

I turned back around to face Corey who had a knowing look on her face. "I don't know where you live."

"I know."

And after a few more minutes of walking, I couldn't help but notice how the houses got progressively bigger and fancier, which I didn't have the chance to take in last time I was here.

Some of these were straight out of Hollywood.

After internally wondering why I didn't pay this much attention last time I was in this area, I finally decided to look up to see if we've arrived..

And I honestly didn't know what to think.

From the beautifully maintained grass, palm trees, and bushes, to the extremely huge spanish-styled mansion that seemed straight out of a movie, standing before me.

"Have you not seen the outside before?" she questioned as we walked up the brick driveway.

Which of course was lined with various luxury cars.

"They're my dads." she cleared up, obviously following my line of sight.

I awkwardly cleared my throat, "Yeah."

"My dads in real estate, and my moms a model," she suddenly spoke as we approached her front door.

And I immediately noticed the hesitation surrounding the topic of her parents.

Which is why I didn't push it earlier.

"Are you always here alone?" I questioned as she unlocked the familiar front door.

She pushed the door open, revealing the same foyer I was in not too long ago. "Yeah, really everyone here is,"

I nodded following her throughout her complex house which was filled with different themed rooms and open spaces.

Pretty sure I saw a kitchen bigger than my room.

"It seems like everyone has parents with important jobs," I pointed out. This is like the third person I've talked to who had an empty house because their parents were gone for some reason.

"Yeah," she replied blankly. "I want to understand but I just don't."

And experiencing this with Chanel, nobody should have to go through that at all.

"If you ever want company, I could be here with you..." I trailed off. "If you want, no pressure."

A chuckle left her lips before a small smile formed on her mouth.
