"Oh my god, she won't quit." I snap as I pick my phone up and silencing the ringer as I shove it back into my jeans pocket.
"Who won't quit what now?" Jesse asked putting his arm around my shoulders. It's like we've known each other for years and not just two whole weeks.
"My roommate Mandy, she keeps trying to set me up with her brother. He just moved back into town or something." I snuggle into his warm side.
"She does know you're seeing someone right?" He raises his eyebrow at me.
"Yes I told her, but I still have to meet him tonight. Will you go with me?" His phone rings.
"Just a second okay it's my sister Amanda. Hello." He says as he walks away to give himself some privacy. "Okay fine." He clicks his phone off and walks up to me. "Um... I don't think I can make it tonight, my sister made plans and I have to go. Sorry."
"That's okay I doubt we would have any fun with Mandy around anyways." I hug him and kiss his cheek. "Call me later okay."
"Of course, and don't let that other guy try anything, got it." He joked giving me a bear hug.
"Can't breathe." I gasped as he put me back down on my feet. "And don't worry I wouldn't dare." I giggled giving him one last kiss before turning to walk away.

"Remind me again why I have to meet your brother?" I asked Mandy, we were both getting ready for our dinner date to meet her brother.
"Because you're a good friend and that's what good friends do." She called from the closet. "Ah-ha here it is." She laughed as she walked out of the closet holding up her right shoe. "Found it."
"Can we go now please?" I begged. "I have to call Jesse when I get back and I don't want it to be too late."
"Oh yes the illusive Jesse, how is he?" She asked raising her perfectly arched eyebrow at me.
"He's fine, he has dinner plans or something with his family tonight so he couldn't make it," I say as we walk out of our apartment.
"Right, so when do I get to meet him?" She asks.
"That would be right around the time you stop pushing me to date your brother." I answer.
"Oh give him a chance, will you. I promise you'll love JJ."
"Just get in the car and don't humiliate me tonight please." She is infamous for embarrassing me on blind dates. That's mostly because she sets them up. I hate dating I think it's a waste of time.
"Fine," She pouts. "No embarrassing stories tonight."
"Good. Now let's go." The quicker I got this over with the quicker I could call Jesse.

We arrive at the restaurant ten minutes later and are seated while we wait for the others to arrive.
"Yay, there here." Mandy claps, jumping from her chair and walking across the room to hug who I could only assume was her brother. Her boyfriend Matt comes over and gives me a small hug and sits next to me.
"Hey, Matt how are you?" I ask as he sits down.
"Good and you?" With his big blue eyes and blond hair Matt had the whole boy next door persona.
"I'd be better if she stops trying to set me up." I sigh.
"Yeah, good luck with that one." He laughed.
"Are you guys talking about me?" Mandy asks as she takes her seat next to Matt.
"Of course, we have absolutely nothing better to talk about but you." Matt leans in and kisses her cheek.
"Where did JJ go?" Good question, where did he go?
"Men's room." She points to the adjoining hall.
"Are we ready to order?" The waitress asks us.
We all place our order; Mandy orders for JJ because he's still not back yet. Rude much or what?
"Okay how much longer do I have to sit here?" I finally ask them both.
"Good god Gabby, what is wrong with you tonight?" Matt laughed next to me, his blue eyes sparkling in the light. "Missing a hot date tonight or something?"
"Something like that yeah." I laugh and play shove his shoulder.
"Oh, here he comes," Mandy says and stands up to introduce us. "JJ I would like you to meet my roommate Gabrielle."
"Oh my god," I was dumbfounded. "Jesse!"
"Gabby! You're the girl Amanda wants to set me up with?" Jesse had a look of shock on his face.
"Wait, what?" Mandy asked. "You both know each other?"
"Um, something like that," I say as she sits back down. "Mandy I have been dating Jesse for the past two weeks." I laugh.
"This is your Jesse!" She laughed. "How on earth was I supposed to know that?"
"How was I to know he was your brother? You call him JJ and he calls you Amanda?" I point at her as Jesse finally sits down next to me.
"JJ stands for Jesse Junior silly, and everyone in my family calls me Amanda." She giggles and takes a sip of her water.

When the waitress brings out food Jesse leans in and whispers in my ear. "So how are you enjoying yourself tonight?"
"I won't lie, it's been one surprise after another." I laugh and take a bite of my food. "But I must warn you JJ I do have a boyfriend and I did promise him that I wouldn't fall for any lines tonight."
Jesse raises an eyebrow at me. "He is one lucky man then." He leans in and kisses my lips softly.
