"Are you sure about this, hija?" My mom asked me.
She had this worried look in her eyes.
"Yes, Ma, don't worry. I will be okay." I assured her and kissed her temple as I entered my car, getting ready to leave.
I look at her through my car's window and show her my genuine smile as I drive my car away from our house.
I know she has been worried about me ever since what happened to my father. But I don't want her to live in fear all the time. I'm okay, and I'm certain about it.
As I drove my car, my mind wandered to my father's birthplace. What does that province look like?
Hindi ko pa napuntahan Ang probinsya ni papa ever since so I'm excited. Besides, it's my first time travelling on my own.
-2 days ago-"Anak, I just called your Aunt in ****. I informed them about your plan," my Mom told me.
I faced her direction and smiled widely at her.
"W-what did they say, Ma?" I nervously asked her.
Oh, I hope they aren't mad that I planned to stay there for my vacation.
My Mom showed me her warm smile. She sat on my bed beside me and stroked my hair.
"They're excited to see you, of course."
I sighed in relief when I heard that.
"That's cool, Mom. I thought they were mad about it."
"Stop worrying, anak. They're excited to meet you, you know why? Because they missed their cutest niece so much," my Mom said as she embraced me with a warm hug.
I hugged her tight too... My mother broke the hug. I also continued packing my clothes. I pouted when I realized something.
'How could they say that I'm cute?, eh eversince hindi pa naman nila Ako na me meet in person?
Well gets ko naman that may sine send na photos si mama sa kanila but hindi dapat nila 'yun paniwalaan. Grabe kaya yung filter nun.
I stared at my mother who's now helping me arrange my clothes on my luggage.
'Si mama talaga joker'
____&____
Mom told me that when I arrive there, someone will assist me. She told me it's my aunt's son since she couldn't go at that time because she has work to do.
Though I also informed them that it might take some time for me to get there since I know how easily I get distracted by scenery and things. I'll just call them if malapit na talaga ako sa place nila.
The noisy road and street vendors welcomed me at the main highway. I even saw familiar faces but I didn't bother greeting them. It's not like I'm so close to them or something.
Some say I'm too reserved and often compare me to my mom and dad who are both friendly and easy to get along with.
I couldn't say much about it since well I know my mom is approachable and soft-hearted, but I couldn't say much about my dad. I didn't know his personality since he passed away when I was still a year old.
