Tanjiro

I covered my face with my hands immediately after receiving a slap across my face and being shoved onto a wall. I whined in pain when my back hit the cold, hard wall. I received another blow on a part of my face I couldn't cover in time.

In the corner of my eye I was able to see nezuko peeking out of her room slightly to see the commotion that was going on. She had tears rolling down her face as she watched me get punched and hit repeatedly by my so called fiancé.

The person who is supposed to love and care for me no matter what. I know how this must look to her. It's not the first time she witnessed this happen, and I'm sure it's not the last either.

Oh how I wished I could do things differently just for her sake. She doesn't deserve any of this.

Aiki grabbed a handful of my hair and I responded with cry of pain. My hands made their way to get his hand off my hair but all that did was leave my already battered up face exposed to another punch of his.

I had lost count of how many times he hit me by now. His grip on my hair didn't loosen one bit and he once again pushed my head to hit the wall. The impact created a loud thud and I fell to the floor.

I wasn't able to see properly as tears blurred my vision. I felt my tears fall onto the back of my hand but I then received a kick right on my lower abdomen. The sharp pain ran all over my body and I clenched my stomach while moaning in agony.

I couldn't think of anything else other than the pain that ran through my body. My face stung in all the places Aiki's fist landed on. I didn't dare to move from my position on the floor. It hurt to even blink.

I was relieved to no longer feel his knuckles on my face. My vision cleared only a tad bit and I looked up to see Aiki looking down at me with pure anger and hatred in his eyes. Those same eyes used to look at me with love and affection though those days seemed long gone.

His eyes averted my own and he reached into his pocket in his jeans. He pulled out a box of cigarettes and a lighter immediately lighting one up before taking a long drag from it.

He lowered the cigarette from his mouth and I watched the grey smoke escape his lips. "If I catch you stealing money from my wallet again, I'll make sure you won't have hands to steal with anymore" he spoke with obvious anger seething out of him.

My eyes followed him as he took another drag from his cigarette and opened the front door but before he walked outside he turned back to me.

"If you try to leave, I swear I'll fucking end you, Tanjiro"

With that he walked out of our mobile home slamming the door shut behind him. I finally had the strength to pull myself off of the floor and suddenly Nezuko ran out of her room to help me. I looked into her eyes and she had been sobbing.

She held onto my hand and helped me get back on two feet. I felt a soft smile creep up my face when I saw her worried look but the most part I was relieved to see that she wasn't hurt at all.

"I'm so sorry, brother! It was all my fault! I was the one who stole from him!" She cried softly and hugged me. I already knew that because she had told me beforehand that she had stolen 50 dollars from him to buy something for herself. I had taken the blame for her.

You're crazy if you think that I would have told on her for it. She would have probably gotten the beating instead of me but I would never let that happen. It can happen to me as many times as it needs to but I won't allow Nezuko to bear that same pain.

Aiki has never once laid a hand on Nezuko but I've seen him yell at her in her face which once caused her to cry and when I had defended her it only led to a beating for myself. I didn't regret it at all if it meant standing up for her though.
