Prologue
“Hello everyone!”
A chubby old man spoke over the microphone, making all the voices in the auditorium fall silent.
“I am Principle Grand, and on behalf of all the faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you all, the new freshman class, to Bravura Academy! This is your first step in becoming Hunters, the heroes of tomorrow!”
With that, as if there was a signal telling them to, the crowd erupted with excitement. This is going to be awesome! Austin thought to himself. He couldn’t help but cheer also. The Principle then coughed over the microphone signaling for silence again.
“I’m absolutely sure that you all know this, but a “Hunter” is another name for an adventurer. Hunters take on jobs for others that specifically involve hunting things like monsters, of items. With the peculiar monster outbreak within the last few years, this profession has become immensely popular. This job requires you to learn how to use weapons, skills, or magic well, and this school was made y=to help you all do just that!”
He cleared his throat and then continued speaking.
“Now you each should have received a folder when you entered the school. In that folder, you will find a your list of classes, your dorm room number with a key, your student ID, your team badge, the names of your team members. “
Austin opened it and it was exactly what Principle Grand said. He pulled out an ID card that showed his name: Austin Martin, his student ID: 135246, and a picture of himself that made him cringe. Ugh. I look like I’m on drugs! He thought with annoyance. He then noticed a shiny red badge attached to a white paper, it read “Freshman Sect: E102” The paper had four names including his on it, which he didn’t pay much attention too since he doesn’t know anyone in this school. The principle continued to speak as he rummaged through the packet of items.
“There are 240 of you freshmen enrolled here and you have been split into 10 different homerooms—there are 24 students in each homeroom. Now we have split you all into even small categories: teams. Each team has four students in it and I suggest that you learn how to get along with them since you’ll be stuck with them for the rest of your freshman year! You all know that you will be doing missions and such to train you to become hunters right? Well there are two types of missions: Main, and Side. The Main missions are ones that you are assigned and you have to do for a grade. It is mandatory that you complete it with the other three members of your team. Side missions are missions that you aren’t required to do. They can be for things like extra credit to boost your grade. They can be completed with anyone: even upperclassmen!
We crafted your homerooms so that every person would be in the same homeroom as their teammates; there are six teams in every homeroom. So you all should have your homeroom number in your folders. Find your homerooms and go meet your classmates, especially your teammates, and you homeroom teachers. If you get lost don’t be afraid to ask one of the faculty or upperclassmen for help! Good luck!”
As the short chubby walked down from the stage, all the students stood up and began searching for their classes. Austin followed suite and began to search. He looked at the paper that listed his homeroom. “Homeroom 1D” I wonder what my teammates are like. He thought to himself as he walked down the bright first floor of the school. He finally found the room and stared at the knob. He took a deep breath and opened the wooden door with determination in his eyes, ready to do his best this school year.
