Days turned into weeks, and Atharva and Hania found themselves crossing paths more frequently than either anticipated—whether it was in the library, the cafeteria, or mutual classes. Atharva was drawn to Hania’s quiet strength, while Hania found herself intrigued by Atharva's easy charm. One evening, during a group project in their psychology class, they were paired together. As they worked late into the night at the campus library, atharva came close to hania and talked to her . He came closer to her , and in a deep voice.. asked her that why she is always alone in the campus.. she did not replied anything ..
Again he asked , is there anything that is bothering you ?
She replied, no I am okay
Atharva says .. you don't seem to be okayy
She was not interested In talking to anyone.. so he went more curious to know what is she going through. He suddenly asks her , If she wants to hang out..
She replies , I don't go outside..
He was shocked to know that
Hania asks her why are you shocked
Atharva replied .. why don't you hang out ?
She says - I don't have any friends with whom I can hang out !!"Wait, what?" He asked, feeling surprised and a bit concerned. "What do you mean you don't have friends? How come?"
She replied, everyone leaves her without any reason .. since her childhood she is alone .. and only her mother is her best friend..
"What do you mean, everyone leaves you?" He asked, feeling a pang of sympathy. "That doesn't make any sense," he said, trying to understand. "Why would everyone leave you for no reason? You seem like a normal person, why wouldn't they want to be your friend?"
She replied ,they back bitch about me and leave me for no fucking reason.. so when I reached in college I decided that I will not make any frnds but I made one and she also betrayed me .. so now I go alone everywhere and if someone talks to me I talk to them otherwise I don't ..
"That sucks," he said, feeling a bit angry on her behalf. "It sucks that people have treated you that way. But don't you think it's a bit lonely, living like that? Not making any friends at all?"
She replied, I am okay ..
"I don't believe that," he said, shaking my head. "You can't just be okay with being alone all the time. Humans are social creatures, we need companionship and connection. It's not healthy to isolate yourself like that."
You should make frnds .. you don't have to be alone .. not everyone is same like them .
She says , maybe now you can be my frnd .. we both are interested In knowing each other ..
"Yeah," he said, feeling a mix of surprise and happiness at her words. "Yeah, I would love to be your friend. I'm definitely interested in getting to know you better. We can hang out and talk and do all the friend stuff, if you want."
"You ever think that sometimes the world pushes people together for a reason?" Atharva mused, his eyes meeting hers.
Hania smiled thoughtfully, her eyes softening. "Maybe. Or maybe we're just part of each other's journey."
