"Who knows what this boy is up to. It's not like he cares that his wedding is just around the corner. And he hasn't even shown up at home!" Roha Begum fumed as she spoke to Kamran Sahib in anger.

"What's wrong, Roha? Why are you so upset? The boy is just busy with work," Kamran Sahib tried to calm her down.

"Tell him to get married to his work then! If he dares to come home, I'll break his legs and hand them to him!" Roha Begum retorted furiously again.

"Roha, why are you trying to raise your blood pressure?" Kamran Sahib gently placed his hand on hers.

"You and your son have always been the cause of my high blood pressure!" Roha Begum glared at Kamran Sahib angrily, while he lowered his head, suppressing his laughter. Laughing now would mean he'd be thrown out of the room!

Durab, who was on his way to meet his mother, paused outside the door, hearing the heated exchange. Letting out a sigh, he knocked on the door and then opened it, knowing full well that he was about to get scolded.

"Assalamu Alaikum," he greeted as he entered, winking at his father. Kamran Sahib looked back at him as if to say, "Why did you come now? You should have stayed wherever you were."

"Wa Alaikum Assalam," Roha Begum responded curtly, turning her face away.

Durab walked up to his mother and sat beside her on the bed. Hugging her, he asked, "Are you upset with me, Mother?"

At that, Kamran Sahib felt an overwhelming urge to pick him up and throw him out of the room!

"Stay away from me and don't talk to me! Go ahead and marry your work instead of Noor. You don't even care about this house or your mother!" Roha Begum pushed him away.

"As you wish, my sweet butterfly." Durab took Roha Begum's hand, placed it on his eyes, and kissed it.

"Durab!" Roha Begum grabbed his ear in response, while Kamran Sahib finally felt at peace. Durab intentionally spoke like this in front of his father just to annoy him.

"Okay, okay, let go of my ear, Roha Begum!" Durab started pleading again, as Kamran Sahib now had a slipper in his hand.

Roha Begum eventually hugged her son. After all, she was still his mother, and though she could get angry, she couldn't stay mad for too long.

But Durab was in a mischievous mood again. He laid down with his head on her lap and, winking at his father, said, "Mother, massage my head, please."

His innocence was off the charts.

"If you don't get out of here right now, I swear I'll fix you!" Kamran Sahib finally lost his patience.

"What's wrong? She's my mother!" Durab replied, pretending to be innocent.

"And calling her 'Roha Begum' and 'Butterfly'—what's that all about?" Kamran Sahib shot back with a glare.

"I call her jaan (beloved) too. Have you forgotten?" Durab was shamelessly proving his point.

Kamran Sahib got up from his seat, and Durab quickly lifted his head from his mother's lap, kissed her forehead, and darted out of the room.

"Stay busy with your work, you insolent man!" Kamran Sahib shouted in frustration, while Roha Begum, by now used to these antics between father and son, just smiled.

Meanwhile, after reaching his room, Durab pulled out his phone and started typing a message to Kamran Sahib.

"Take care of my butterfly," the message read, followed by a shy face emoji.
