Christmas Special: Part One

"CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME why we're driving to your house right now?" The apprehension in Warren's voice was so thick that when David noticed it, the bodyguard couldn't help but laugh.

"You're worrying about nothing, my lord. We're just going to pay my grandparents a visit, that's all," David said and kept his gaze on the road. He's the one driving Warren's pickup truck again.

After Omar decided to stop being Warren's personal driver, David has been the one doing it ever since. Omar's reason: he wants to give Warren and David some privacy.

David wasn't opposed to the idea at all. In fact, he was very pleased to be Warren's personal driver. However, the things that made it worthwhile for David as Warren's driver were the reactions he receives from Warren every time he opens the door for him or drives him to work.

The suppressed smile and intense blush from Warren would always be David's daily dose of dopamine these days. How Warren desperately tries to hide those reactions under his nonchalant demeanor will always be comical for David.

And to be honest, David just couldn't get enough of it.

Moreover, ever since David became Warren's personal driver, he never allowed Warren to hold the steering wheel anymore. The only thing Warren was allowed to hold while they're on the road was David's hand.

Wala namang reklamo doon si Warren dahil pabor naman sa kanya ang nangyayari. Warren gets to hold David's hand all the time, and he likes being David's passenger prince.

"On the last day before Christmas? Are you serious? You really think I'm that dense?" Warren countered in a deadpan tone.

Shoot. I've been caught. David thought.

"Always so perceptive," David chuckled while complimenting Warren. "No wonder you got my attention."

David released a hearty laugh after he saw Warren's frozen expression. However, there's a twist in Warren's reaction. Warren may be looking like a deer caught in headlights right now, but the look of joy that gleams behind his chocolate brown eyes was palpable.

If it were possible for a human to form heart eyes, Warren would be the first one to do it.

"You're lagging again, my lord."

Warren's lids fluttered at a fast pace as he slowly came back to his senses.

Warren clicked his tongue and sagged on his seat. "Why do you always do that?"

"Do what?" David answered innocently.

"Taking me by surprise, especially with your words?"

"Do you not like it?" David tilts his head to steal a look at Warren.

David saw Warren shake his head. "No. I like it."

"Then what seems to be the problem?"

Warren released a defeated sigh when he realized there's no point in having this type of conversation with David.

Warren likes what David is doing, so what exactly is the problem?

"Nothing, forget it. I'm just being silly. Hormones acting up."
