"Are you going to ignore me all morning?" Kakashi's hands slithered around your waist as you washed your face. "I'm not ignoring you."
"You haven't said a word all morning." He looked at you through the mirror. "What's on your mind?"
"Hanami Ueno's death." He softly exhaled at your words. "It isn't your fault ...." You left the bathroom grabbing your bag from the bed.
Kakashi decided not to pry because he knew you would feel at fault no matter how much he tried to talk to you about it.
You limped to the door walking out. "Are you planning to walk the whole way?" He observed your leg and watched as you put pressure on it to walk.
You blankly glanced at him. "How else am I supposed to get there?" You silently gazed up at the sky where the sun was still in its state of rising. Kakashi stopped in front of you. "Get on."
"I'm not get- Put me down! People are watching." You whisper shouted as he pulled you onto his back. "Then stop being difficult and get on my damn back." You huffed and locked your arms around his neck.
"That wasn't so hard now was it?" You purposely tightened your grip around his neck and he laughed. "Two can play that game." His hands that were supporting you around your thighs tightened.

"The leaf Jounin?" The man at the dock asked. "Yes." Kakashi finally set me on my feet.
He man motioned us to board the boat and once we found our seats it took off. "Long day?" He asked the two of us.
"You can't even imagine." You closed your eyes waiting for the arrival to the Leaf Village. Once you arrived at the village both of you would speak with Ibiki and also the Hokage.
Traveling by boat back to the Leaf's territory would take two days and once we returned we had to go through an interrogation.
Not that you were scared or anything, but you still couldn't help but feel the guilt from Hanami's death.
You grabbed your brother's sash from your vest. Ryoko. After his death, you decided to settle in the Leaf village after gaining approval from the third Hokage.
You knew of Asuma Sarutobi through your brother. He trusted him enough to put his name in the final letter he sent to you.
It was as if he knew his death was bound to happen soon. Asuma and another were the last two of the group. Ryoko seemed to care enough about Asuma to warn him.
The four Akatsuki members we encountered seemed to have different motives. You didn't think they would drop their names so casually.
Possibly because they planned to kill the three of us as well but what stopped them from doing so? You were certain they weren't aware of your abilities, possibly Kakashi's Sharingan but the masked person seemed to interfere.
You knew it would be difficult for them to just let us go because now we were able to identify three of the Akatsuki members but their abilities were still unknown except Deidara's and the orange mask.
You looked up at Kakashi and he seemed to be in a deep thought as well. Probably wondering the same thing.
-
After a long trip, you finally made it back to the leaf. "Kakashi I can walk on my own." He grabbed your arm slinging it around his shoulder.
To be fair you did have a piece of wood pierced through your fucking leg but did that stop you? A little bit but would you admit it? No.
"Y/n- Are you alright?" You tried to stop walking to speak to Izuna but Kakashi was practically dragging you. "Yeah, nothing I can't recover from!" You said loud enough for him to hear.
"Stop being an asshole." You said snatching your arm from Kakashi as the two of you made your way through the village. "How? The Hokage is waiting on us."
"Yeah let that be your excuse." You snapped grabbing your backpack straps and rolling your eyes at the smirk that he held. As soon as the two of you arrived at the office Shizune was in the lobby telling us to go ahead to the Hokage's office.
You didn't have to knock on the door because it was being opened by Jiraiya. "Y/n. Kakashi." He greeted.
"I'm glad the two of you returned safely back. I was notified by the messenger crow you sent that you may have information about the Akatsuki." She said and you took a seat in one of the chairs. "Yes ma'am-"
Two more knocks sounded on the door and Shizune stepped to the side so Ibiki could enter. He acknowledged us with a nod and then stood on the other side of Kakashi.
"Your leg okay?" You sighed raising the hem of your shorts showing how far the bandage went up. "I was close to the house when it exploded. A piece of the wooden wall stabbed me through my leg. The medical-nin at the Mist said my artery was barely missed and that it should heal within a week with proper medical care."You massaged your brows and sighed,
"I can personally take a look at it after we finish discussing everything." You nodded in appreciation. "I have a file here with some of the information we've already obtained on the Akatsuki. As you should know already, this information is to stay in this room until instructed otherwise."
"I understand." Both Kakashi and yourself said.
The majority of the information in the file came from Jiraiya's personal investigation. "From what I've learned, one of their objectives has something to do with the tailed beast. However, the Mist doesn't have one anymore."
"It seemed like they were heading to an important place. Possibly a base nearby." Kakashi commented. "If that was the case though, they wouldn't have engaged with us. Unless they were certain that they would kill us off."
"Can you explain why they didn't?" Ibiki asked. "It was as if they all had different motives. The silver-haired man, Hidan, he mentioned a name..." You looked at Kakashi who was in thought,
"Jashin I believe." You snapped your fingers, nodding. "Yes. The other is a green-eyed man, who is involved with collecting bounties. He was ultimately someone who benefited from Hanami's death."
"That could be true. I don't doubt that she didn't have a bounty on her head." Lady Tsunade said to the two of us.
"Was there anything else you collected?" Kakashi nodded. "There were two others. I recognized one as a missing ninja, Deidara from the stone village. He was responsible for the explosion using his explosive clay."
"Then there's another." You and Kakashi exchanged glances. "Who?" Tsunade asked.
"The orange-masked man. His ability allows him to disappear." Kakashi started. "So invisibility?"
"It wasn't that. When we fought my fist went straight through him." Their eyes widened at your words. "And seconds before the mist ninja arrived, he warped himself away." Kakashi nodded.
"So more of a teleportation ability. That's the closest thing I can think of...." The three listened as the two of you recollected the fight and how it didn't end in the deaths of Kakashi, Chojuro, and yourself.
"He also warned me that the next time I encountered him. I'd be his to kill I'm assuming." You laughed. "You don't seem affected by his threat y/n."
Kakuzu's promise to you.
"If he was involved with Ryoko's death...I'll take him down myself." The statement was clear to everyone in the room.
Your promise to Kakuzu.
