"I can't wait for this to be over." ES whined in his own room, sitting on his bed while actual war was going on outside in the living room. It's not the first time ES' family had arguments, but this time, ES was fed up. He didn't want to stay in this toxic environment anymore, but where could he possibly go?
ES had always been hating this world, human, pest of earth. They were disgusting, selfish, greedy, the list goes on. It seemed that there was nothing human could do that could change ES' opinion on these pests, they were just a bunch of corrupted creatures, leeching off the earth, maybe if they were gone, the world would be a way better place, at least that's what ES thought.
But ES wasn't one of those anime villains, getting rid of human just because they were mean to him? That wasn't happening. Plus, what was ES going to do? Take on the whole world at once himself? He knew he was just another pawn in this endless cycle that god had created, and an emo pawn like him wasn't about to start a revaluation.
As ES checked his watch, he realized the argument outside had been going on for almost an hour, with no end in sight, he was going to be trapped in his room for at least a few more hours. So ES decided to sneak out of the house, with no plan or goal in his mind, he jumped out of the window, slided down the pipes, and landed on the ground without a scratch.
"But, what now?" ES asked himself, he wanted to leave this place, but he wasn't sure where he wanted to go, so he walked around the neighborhood alone, taking in the scenery as he enjoyed the moments of silence. Finally, ES reached the end of the road, as he looked up, he found himself standing infront of the town's library.
ES had great memories with this place, he loved reading in his young age, it was a place where he could enjoy the peace and quiet. So ES walked in the place.
As he walked in the library, he realized something strange, though he could see the light on from outside the library, the place was dark, with absolutely no other people in sight, The place looked abandoned, but that couldn't be right, right? The library looked normal from the outside, but the observation had been proved to be an illusion the moment he stepped into the place.
Taking this as a red flag, ES reached for the handle of the door, but it was locked! ES was certain he left the door opened, but he was now trapped in this seemingly haunted place.
Without hesitation, ES grabbed a stool next to him, and started mashing it against a window, which was super effect! But every time the window was about to break, it magically repaired itself, and it didn't take long for ES to waste all his energy, leaving the boy on the floor, exhausted.
"What kind of wicked magic is this?" ES complained himself, starting to regret his actions of leaving the house, but it was going to take more than a few weird magical escape room to stop him, so he started walking around in the library. For the most part, it was a rather normal library, books, couches, computers, everything you would expect to be in a library, it was all in here, besides other people obviously. The library also looked abandoned for the most part, if it wasn't for the few, brand new lightbulb on the roof, though it didn't brighten the room a lot.
As he walked deeper into the library, ES couldn't hold his curiosity anymore, it wouldn't be a bright idea to touch anything in this place, but ES did, he picked up a few books from a bookshelf, but it didn't look right, all the books were empty in the inside, strange.
All the books were empty, beside one of them. A book on a table caught ES' attention. so he started reading it. It had text in it! That's a first time, and it's written in English! Sorta. ES was hyped, but as he read the book, he couldn't help but noticed his head was hurting more and more every time he turned over a new page. At first, the words on the book could be read, but as time went on, the words became more and more distorted, until only the words on the book cover could be read, 'Light The Beacon'.
The headache definitely limited ES' brainpower, though there wasn't much to begin with. Despite that, ES could remember what was told in the first few pages of the book, something about corruption, spirits, darkness, something like that. . . Something out of a teenager's diary honestly, an emo one to be exact.
As ES picked the book up, he realized there was something under it, a piece of note, showing how five candles should be placed to 'Light The Beacon'. What did that even mean? ES obviously didn't wanted to follow these sketchy steps, so he left the book and note on the table and continued wandering around in hopes of an exit, until. . .
. . . "Psst." A Whisper spooked ES, he quickly turned his head around, but there was no one else in the place. Although ES' head was still hurting, he was sure someone or something did whisper to him, it wasn't just an imaginary illusion.
"Kid, you want to get out of here, right?" The ominous voice spoke again.
'Duh, who wouldn't?" I responded to the air, still looking for the source of the voice.
"I can help you, kid, as long as you accept my deal." The voice offered.
"I'm not interested in making deals at the moment, whatever you are. I'll get out myself, just watch." I rejected their offer, unclear of the voice's intentions, it's best not to trust them.
"You wish." The voice laughed. "What a stubborn one, just like me back in those days. I rejected the same offer fifteen years ago as well, look where I'm at now."
ES felt bothered, but at the same time, this voice was the only thing that could interact with him at the moment. Furthermore, ES had no doubt the voice knew more about this place than himself. "This library was built ten years ago, what do you mean fifteen years?"
"It's a library now? Guess he was right. . . " The voice mumbled. "I couldn't see anything since then, but this domain had existed long before you could imagine, kid."
"He? Who's he?" ES questioned. someone else was in this place? ES immediately got alerted, looking around the place again, but still not spotting anything different.
"Calm down, I'm the him now." the voice said again.
"I'm done with this." Feeling like he was getting trolled, ES was annoyed, and started heading in another direction, down the hall until he saw a staircase. ES immediately started walking up, but as the lights got even darker, ES tripped on something, a whole skeleton! ES panicked, losing his cool and balance as he fell down the staircase, hurting his head a ton in the process.
"Careful, that's my body." The voice spoke again, rather calmly as well. "At least, it was my body, there are much more skeletons upstairs, I suggest you not going up there, you don't want to become one of them."
"Ow. . . " ES mumbled on the floor, blood dripping down from the left side of his face, the place was too weird for his liking, and he wanted to leave this place, no matter what it takes, as long as it's not his life of course.
"Fine, I'll consider cooperating with you, whatever you are." ES finally agreed, kind of. "But you must tell me more things you know and what's going on here."
"Ah, story time, my favorite." The voice laughed. "Alright then, suit yourself, though you should probably patch up the blood on your face."
"Yeah yeah, it's not the first time I had blood on my face." ES replied as he went over to a med kit he found in a corner of the place and wrapped bandages around his head, probably not entirely useful for a bleeding scar on his face, but it made ES felt better, mentally at least.
