Rowan's POV:
For the first time in a year, I'm actually hanging out with someone other than my family. When I told my mom that I was going out to see a friend, she was shocked. Which kind of stung, yet I understood. Its almost time for me to head to the cafe, so I grab a white crop top and high waisted shorts. I slip on a pair of tennis shoes and head down to where we're meeting up.

When I walked into the cafe, Tanner was already sitting down at the same table from yesterday. "Hey stranger," I said with a smile. He smiled back, "Hey Rowan. You wanna go to the beach?" "Yea, lets go." Just as I'm turning around, he grabs my wrist. "Hold on, take a seat real quick." I do as he says and wait for him to talk. "I just got a reminder on my phone that says your birthday is this week?"

"Yea, it is. Its on the 14th." "Well, are you doing anything?" "Um, not really. I'm spending the morning with my family and then for the rest of the day I'll just be home. Nothing special," I told him with a shrug. "Well now you have plans. I'll hang out with you for your birthday. No one deserves to be alone on such a special day. And I already know what I'm going to get you."

"Really? What is it?" He laughed, "Its a surprise." "Whatever," I scoffed and slightly laughed. "So, you ready to go to the beach?" I nod and we head out.

When we get there, we start to walk along the ocean tide. "So how long until you leave?" I ask him. "I'm leaving on the 16th. The wedding is on Monday, so after that its only a few days before I head back to Los Angelos." For a few seconds its silent, but then Tanner stops walking and stops me as well.

"Hey, if you aren't doing anything on Sunday, do you want to come to the wedding with me? Not like my date or anything, just as a friend. I get a plus 1 and I'd rather bring a friend to hang out with than my chatty cousin." I laugh, "Yea, sounds like fun. Does her wedding have a color scheme?" "Yea, its blue and a pinkish purple."

As soon as he said that, my smile dropped. I became really quiet and Tanner seemed to notice. "You okay? You got quiet there." "Its nothing, its just that..those were rucus colors." "Oh..sorry," he said as he rubbed my back. "Its okay, you didn't know." I looked at my watch and realized that it was time for me to head home. "I have to go home. Thanks for hanging out with me today. Can you pick me at my house before the wedding?" I asked. "Yea, sure."

I waved bye and started walking home. Rucus colors..what a coincidence.
