17. [Full] AGGELOI, Book 1: "Pursuit"

Summary:

I belonged to the Supreme Order of Angels. Our leader was Lucifer. I was second in command and power after my leader. But when we found out the harsh truth about our destiny, we fell like lightning to our doom, Lucifer began to hate all heaven and earth...even me! I saw him turning into a monster, a demon!

Then, I realized my mistake. I wouldn't follow someone who hated me.

When we reached Earth, I stopped many of my brothers from falling into hell, at the last minute, to save ourselves. Since then, I became the New Leader of the remaining fallen angels. Exiled from Heaven and unwanted from Hell, Earth became our new home. We had to stay there, to protect humans. That was our new task to repent for our sin. Thus, we would gain back our original position in Heaven. From the moment we fell from the sky, we knew we couldn't make any mistakes.

Unfortunately, I made a mistake. The worst of all.

Now, I must look for the woman who is responsible for it, made me lose my wings, and became one of those I hated the most, one of those who were responsible for my doom, for I became human!

For the AGGELOI series, I chose to keep the original Greek word in its transliterated form rather than using the common English term "Angels". The word angelos has Greek origins and carries a cultural and spiritual weight that I wanted to preserve. Using AGGELOI maintains that connection while giving the series a unique identity that stands out from the countless fantasy works titled "Angels".

Although the story includes many of my own fantasy elements, it is also inspired by aspects of the Greek Orthodox tradition and the way angels are portrayed in various religious and cultural sources. This blend of research and imagination forms the foundation of the lore in the AGGELOI universe.

I also explore the moral complexity of both angels and demons, presenting not only their powers and roles but also the grey areas between them. Some demons may act more humanely than humans themselves - never by accident, as nothing in my stories is without purpose.

While certain elements remain faithful to traditional beliefs, I have also developed my own theory regarding the creation and nature of angels, which serves as a core concept for the series. This is, of course, a work of fiction, and these interpretations are part of the worldbuilding that shapes the narrative.
