"Move, Hero of Light, this time I am not here for you (the Dark Hero points his sword towards Joan). Get up. The enemy is in front of you, Joan of Arc. Despairing will do no good. Having doubts will not help you it will do no good. Stand up and fight for what you believe is right." - says the Dark One, slowly approaching her.

Artoria, who was trying to stop him, is hit from behind by him, fainting. The swordsman lays Artoria down gently on the ground and then turns to the girl with the banner.

"What will you do, Joan? Do you still want to stay there? You must understand that weaknesses and doubts are part of human being. We are the ones who must overcome them and move forward. Come on. Get up and hit me."

Joan slowly gets up from the ground. She tries to land blows, but they are both slow and imprecise. The Dark Hero easily pulls her banner from her hands and without the staff she was left with only a sword. She unsheathes it, and continues her literally useless attack.

"I see you're not motivated enough. So how about if I told you that I killed the children in that orphanage. What will you do?" - reveals the unknown warrior.

Upon hearing those words, Joan's anger flares up, relentlessly attacking her enemy.

"Even if you hit with emotions you will never be able to hit me. Try to calm down and use the anger you have as strength." - suggests his enemy.

(He's right. I can't attack at random. It's useless like this.) - thinks Joan. Taking a deep breath, calming down and thinking deeply, a look of seriousness came from the Saint's face.

An almost divine transformation took place before the eyes of the one who is considered evil. A white robe as if to indicate the purity of one who is a believer in God, a sword full of its owner's blood used to protect and not for revenge; this is the new Joan, La Pulzella. With the sword held on the blade side she begins to pray.

"La Pulzella The Scarlet Saint." - says the Saint ardently after the prayer.

(I thank you, Dark Hero. You made me understand that I must not doubt my choices and that I must fight for what I believe. I must and will protect the people dear to me without hesitation.) - she thought smiling.

The rose on the handle of Joan's blade opens, creating a flame that heads towards the enemy. The opponent takes the full blow, burning himself.

"Well done. The others will be happy to see you again." - states the black swordsman, finding himself behind her and making her faint.

...

She reopens her eyes, finding the nun's face before her. She was lying on a bench inside the largest church in Rome. All the children in the orphanage flock to her, overjoyed to see her. Seeing all those smiles made her want to smile too.

Even Artoria, with a certain distance, smiles observing the beauty of that moment, but then a letter arrives from a local nun. There was no name of the sender, nor of the recipient, so how did the nun know that she was destined to have this message, Artoria thought about it. She opens the paper reading mentally:

"Artoria Pendragon,

I'm sorry for what happened, but I had to intervene so that Joan could overcome her weaknesses and doubts. A Saint must be sure of the path she has chosen. Even just inciting, even just protecting are important. There's no need to be afraid. I hope she's happy to see them.

Also there are those accidents and the destroyed Church. I apologize for this too, but I can't reveal the details to you at the moment. I ask you not to rebuild that Church in that place. One day you will understand.

Even the black swordswoman with the same weapon as you...you will know, but not now. I cannot even reveal my identity to you for your safety and that of everyone. The Hero of Darkness must act in the shadows while the Hero of Light must move in bright moments. One day we will work together, but not for now. Artoria...one day you will be able to wield that sword to perfection. With the experience you gain you will become a true hero. I would advise you to go east and study swords and magic in a school, but I already know what will happen. Be convinced of the path you will take. It will be difficult, but I'm sure you'll do it. For a while our paths will separate, but we will see each other again. Until next time."

The message ends like this, leaving many questions unanswered for Artoria. Hearing a noise she turns around and notices that Joan was also reading the letter and that she was crying.

"I thank you, unknown hero. I will pray to God that your future may be bright. I will ensure that you are considered a hero worthy of the name and no longer a necessary evil. This is certainly the right choice. (She turns towards Artoria) Hero of Light, I, Joan of Arc, will be happy to accept your request and follow Nero on her journey. I also thank you for giving me this opportunity and for having met you. Thank you very much." - says the Saint smiling.
