He was previously a student at YP Music Academy.He was the last member to join 17.He said when he first joined Pledis, he felt scared and lonely but he's the member that got along with everyone the fastest. He dreamed of becoming a singer when he saw Yoon Dohyun's performances in middle school. The amount of energy he had on stage and the way he interacted with the fans and shared their energy was very cool to him. His nickname is internal voice. The members call him that because he's noisy when he's practicing his singing and it sounds like a speaker. He sang karaoke a lot when he was in middle school and his friends told him his singing is good. Since then, he enjoys singing when his friends are playing a guitar. Now he always listens to songs whenever he's resting and he continues to practice and improve his vocals. He loves rock bands. He was a part of a rock band when he was in middle school. His role model is Yoon Dohyun and Moon Myungjin. Between dating someone younger or older, he prefers someone older because he needs someone to take care of him.

It only took 10 minutes to know that Seokmin is a warm-hearted boy who just likes to play and joke around. He always has people around him, not a surprise that he has nicknames such as 'Seungkwan's endorphin' and 'Hyung(older brothers) collector'. He used to have times when he would look at things negatively but becoming a trainee changed him into the boy we know now. He says becoming a trainee was a turning point in his life and that makes him train harder and give out energy to the people around him. He hasn't experienced true love yet, but he enjoys being with SEVENTEEN members rather than trying to make a girlfriend. He says his only goal for now is to get on the stage and shine. People around him recognize him as the loudest of all the members. When he practice singing, he is very loud. During their SuKiRa radio broadcasting Ryeowook let him singing far from the microphone and it was still loud. Ryeowook also sees him as a masculine boy.

Honestly, I was too shock to know DK is the main vocal. i can barely believe he has such a good voices and can hit high notes. He's too masculine i thought he was a rapper or a dancer at first. You'll love how he is such a happy virus.
