Chapter Eleven: Electric

They were on the way to Lumiose City for the fifth gym badge. It started to rain, so they tried to find shelter. There was a house, so without any care in the world, Marnie kicked down the door. It looked like a mansion, but when Ash entered, it was like the room became darker, the shadows increased, and the already dim light became almost nonexistent.

Ash: Did you have to bust the door down; the owners are going to kill us!

Marnie: But it was fun.

Ash: We're not alone. Humans are here, but there's something else.

Bonnie: How'd it get darker? And how do you know?

Gloria: Never mind that, let's go figure it out.

Ash thanked her quietly. He felt people moving around in darkness, he saw them, heard them, knew them. This was an unsettling feeling, but also one that felt nice in a way. Ash didn't know how he sensed the darkness, or why, but he did know he wanted to learn.  Ash was confused in the worst way possible, like it was right there, but just out of reach.

Suddenly, a pokemon appeared before them. It was a Meowstic. The psychic type hit all of them with psybeam, knocking them all back. The cat manipulated the terrain, separating everyone from Ash. They then vanished into the shadows, ready for phase two.  Ash growled, pulling out a pokeball with a lighting mark on it.

Ash used Toxel, known as Livewire. The baby pokemon was on Ash's head, lighting the way. The duo of Trainer and Baby entered a massive room, filled with Chandeliers and Paintings. Livewire growled, making an electric field, lighting it up.  Ash watched, and small sparking noises were heard, along with a meow.

They wandered the area, searching. They found nothing. Livewire was returned, as the baby seemed to be crying a little. The Dark Champion assumed that Toxel felt something he didn't. Ash sent out Reaper instead, his best pokemon in the shadows. The pokemon faded into the shadows searching. While that was happening, Ash explored even more, until he found something.

It was a giant painting, though not a single thing was in it. The painting was just pink paper in a golden frame. The shadows around this area were much smaller, as if something powerful was warding them off. Ash touched the panting, but it turned black when he did.   Two glowing pink eyes popped out; the eyes tilted.   Ash retracted his hand, walking back.  Then he put them back, touching the eyes.

Ash: I feel your presence. You are...curious about me. You are old and powerful, but not legendary. I feel psychic energy. These powers of mine, I have zero influence over them, zero control. They just happen. You have something to do with these..abilities. Can you help me?

The eyes fell back in, and out came a pokemon. A pink creature floated in front of Ash. She giggled, looking at Ash with amusement. Ash took a step back in shock, seeing as he was face to face with Mew. Mew floated around Ash, rubbing his tail against his head. She flew back, still giggling. Ash hit the ground on his butt, eyes

Mew: So, your 009? Yes, you are definitely a powerful being. I could help you. If you entertain me.  Such a fun creature, I'm glad you're my kid

With that, Mew blasted the trainer with a hyper beam. Ash braced for impact, but instead of the move hitting, a dark sphere surrounded Ash, the mythical move doing nothing. Mew teleported behind Ash, about to hit him with her tail, but a shadow disk stopped the blow, then strikes Mew's stomach. She shook off the pain, noting Ash had no idea how he was doing this.

Ash booked it, Mew chasing.  Ash turned around to see Mew flying at him with a evil grin. He yelled, and dark tendrils grabbed Mew, pinning him to the ground.  She broke free with a grin, but Ash noticed a bruise mark.
