"Maverick, Y/n! Come down and play with Everleigh!" Mavericks grandmother yelled out from the kitchen. I did not know that they had a kitchen I thought they only had rooms.
"Coming grandma!" he yells.
"Dad will be back soon to help with dinner but Mom is at Durmstrang until Christmas" he says smiling.
"But right now Everleigh want us to take her to the park near your house" he explains.
"Do you know where it is" he asks.
"Yeah I'll show it to you" I smile.
"Thank you, she's been waiting for someone to take her. I'm never here and Grandma's way too old. We don't want a death eater to take her so she need an adult with her" he cringed.
"Yeah I completely understand" I say.
"Okat, well lets go" he jumps up and grabs my hand. This is the first time a boy willingly held my hand. Mavericks different from Mattheo. He's sweeter and kinder. I don't have a crush on him or anything, he's just a much better friend.
"Y/n! Are you going to take me to the park" Everleigh says jumping.
"Yes, we are Everleigh" Maverick smiles.
"Yay" she yells
"Lets go you two" I say smiling brightly.
After walking to the park
"Oh my Merlin, you used to go here all the time?" Everleigh asks and looks up at me.
"Yes, do you like it?" I ask.
"Yes, yes yes! It reminds me of the old muggle parks Mom used to bring me to" Eveleigh smiles.
I watch as Everleigh runs over to the slide and starts playing on it.
"I don't think you've realised how long Everleigh has wait for this" he sighs
"but she's never been allowed to go out all by herself" he says sitting down and I sit down next to him on the grass.
"Yeah I completely understand. I was never allowed to go out when I was younger because my grandmother broke up with the dark lord and my family believed that he was trying to find us. I have always hoped that my father only became a death eater for our safety not anything else" I say through tears.
"I'm sorry I must be annoying" I laugh.
"No it's fine, you can tell me more" he comforted me. Odd. I've never been comforted.
"Umm. Yeah. Okay. Well when my father joined the death eaters he stopped coming to dinner and got in a big fight with my Grandmother. Soon after my uncle moved out and he went to the muggle world. I was about 4 at this time and my uncle and grandmother were the most important people in my life and they both stopped talking to my father. That was the first time I was alone. I learned that no one is with you forever they will always will leave you no matter the promises" I say blinking away tears.
"Hey, Y/n I promise I will always be here for you" Maverick says
"No, no you won't everyone leaves" I say
"No, Y/n I will be there at your wedding and for your first child. I'll help raise those kids. I will be there for you forever. Friends forever" he says and I give him a big hug.
"You promise" I say
"I promise, a Rosewood never breaks their promise" he says proudly.
"Thanks Mav" I giggle.
"I promise Y/n" he says.
"You don't have to do this alone" he says
"What alone" I giggle wondering what he means.
"Everything" he smiles.
